In the 70s I sold jojoba shampoo. It was 100% pure. You would first rub it on your wet scalp and hair, then rinse and rub more in and leave it! That is the way the Indians would clean their hair. I have looked for years for that brand, but never found it.Now you can believe this or not, but we had a friend that had started to lose his hair on the sides and front. After he used the shampoo for several months, he started to grow his hair back! You could see the little fuzzies on the top of his head. other customers also had good results of varying degrees, but everyone agreed it works!!

Another tip: I always use pure almond oil as an eye make-up remover. No rashes and leaves the skin very soft. Since I’m allergic to many substances, this works perfectly for me!

Marlana, GREAT tip for the electrolysis aftercare! It makes perfect sense when you mentioned it since Jojoba has such wonderful healing properties. I use it during and after breakouts to help speed up the healing process and prevent scarring.

I used Jojoba shampoo in the 80s and forgot all about it’s benefits until did some research on it online and found that the oil (or liquid wax, since that is what it is technically) had so many many more uses for the skin and hair, including your own tips! One you might want to add for those that get electrolysis done, is to apply the Jojoba on the area immediately for faster healing and less redness. I usually rub a few drops in my palm and dab the area I get zapped, and what ever is left in my hands goes straight over my knuckles if they feel dry, or on my face if I’m make-up free at the time.

Hi Amber, I completely agree about it being a miracle cure! Do you use it straight to remove makeup? I’ve found that I can dilute mine half & half with water and it works just as well, plus it makes the jojoba last longer and hence, is better for my wallet. I actually really love organic safflower oil for makeup removing. It’s cheaper and does the job just as well.

Oh and your tip for hair use is great too. I’ve noticed the same benefits when I do the deep conditioning treatments I mentioned above. It’s so easy and the results are incredible!

OH and for the hair. What I do is before EVERY shampoo ( i wash my long hair every other day) I rub about a good teaspoon or 2 of jojoba oil and even some grapeseed oil in my palms and work it well into ends of hair. Also midsection especially if you have layers because ends are there too. Your hair will look at greasy but that’s ok. Let it sit in there for a good hour or so. Then shampoo and condition as usual. My hair is more manageable, shiny, no frizzies, and looks like I just had my split ends cut off though I haven’t.

Jojoba oil is nature’s miracle cure, along with grapeseed oil. Makes skin and hair shiny and glowing. TAkes off makeup. Clears up acne (though some might have more acne for the first couple mths due to the purging of pores jojoba oil does but it will clear up after). It is cheaps and lasts forever. I found the best quality and price of jojoba oil and grapeseed oil at soapgoods.com.
