The Bionic-Best Brown Eyeshadow?

Hands down… Milani’s Java Bean eyeshadow is perfect for all skintones. It’s a slightly shimmery, cocoa brown color perfect for everyday wear or amp it up with eye liner and curvy lashes for evening wear. The pigment is absolutely amazing- certainly comparable to MAC’s high end pigments and shadows.
If you prefer a smoky gray, try Milani’s eye shadow in Storm. $3.49 at Walgreens and other local drugstores.
I swear you’ll love it!
Read on to get the model’s look.
The Milani model is wearing Eye Shadow Compact in #18 Java Bean on her eyelid. Eye Shadow Compact in #25 Almondine is brushed from the crease of the eye upwards to the brow line. A combination of Eye Shadow Compact in #04 Flare and #26 Sun Goddess is blended and brushed into the crease of the eye. Loose Eye Shadow Powder #03 Bronze is then very lightly brushed over the eyelid area – or for a glittery effect, use a fine glitter that is safe for the eyes.

Skin MD Natural, Rock Dissolving Acid, and Freebies, Oh My!
Skin MD Natural has performed a demonstration video showing their protective Shield Lotion in the works. It’s quite dramatic actually. The guy, wearing the lotion on his hands, pours Muriatic Acid (used in swimming pools) over rocks in his hand and the Shield Lotion protects him from burns and dryness. It’s got me convinced enough to try their…. FREE SAMPLES! ($2.00 shipping and handling is yours to cover though.)
Bionic will report back with a full review once the samples have been evaluated. Oh, and a nice bonus? The Skin MD Natural products are affordable (a 1-2 month supply is $25), natural (water, aloe vera, etc), and are cruelty-free!!
Watch this video, tell me if I’m the only one who is amazed!

Bionic’s Look: Amped Up Natural
Today I decided to amp up my standard natural makeup application with a bit more drama. Still suited for daytime, but with a little extra jazz.
The products I used:
Read on for details and the final look.
Cosmetics Used:
- Face: Everyday Minerals in Intensive Medium
- Blush: Sonia Kashuk in Shimmering Posy
- Brushes: by Sonia Kashuk (as pictured)
- Lips: L’Oreal Color Juice Stick in Mango Tango
- Eyes: Physician’s Formula eyeshadow quad in Metallic Canyon, Jane eyeshadow duo in Browny Points and Hazlenut.
- Eyeliner: Physician’s Formula Eye Definer in Ultra Black
- Lashes: Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Mascara in Ultra Black
Applied my normal mineral makeup foundation, followed by a light peachy blush on the front circles of cheeks.
Swept the light taupe color from the Physician’s Formula shadow quad onto my lid, into the crease, and slightly above the crease.
Applied the light shimmery color (Jane’s Hazlenut) across brow bone.
Then applied the dark matte Browny Points (by Jane) into the outer corner of my lid (I *love* this color by the way!).
BLEND WELL!
Then I lined my upper lash line with the Eye Definer in Black. It’s a standard pencil but twists up to keep the point semi-sharp. It’s a very smooth product and doesn’t pull your lids. Smudge the line very *slightly* by using a teeny brush and lightly swishing over the eyeliner.
Apply one coat of the Mineral Wear mascara.
Lips get one coat of Mango Tango and good to go. Mango Tango smells delicious and is nicely moisturizing.
Final look:

Estimated time: 10 minutes.
Everything is available at Target or your local drugstore with the exception of the Everyday Minerals.

Bionic Buy! Great brushes found
On a recent trip to Michaels, I straggled through the art brush section and found these fantastic brushes! They have natural hair and nylon bristles, long handles, rubberized grips, and pretty colors (clear handles with pink, yellow, blue, purple accents).
After a few uses, I simply LOVE them. No bristles all over my face and they as SO soft. And an even better bonus? They were only $2.99 on sale!!
More details if ya read on…
The brand name is Royal Soft-Grip. I picked the 1″ SG 1400 (a large mop, natural bristles for all-over powder application), 1/2″ SG 1400 (a smaller mop for precise powder application), 1/2″ SG 950 (nylon bristles for foundation application), SG 995 (natural bristles for non-precise eyeshadow), and SG 999 (natural black bristles for eyeshadow app that needs a little more precise handling).
Try them out and let Bionic know your experience!
