Review: John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Starlit Waves

Looking for a replacement for Beach Blonde’s Surf Spray by John Frieda (it was discontinued quite awhile ago, grrrr); I picked up John Frieda’s Starlit Waves in the Brilliant Brunette line.

The spray promises “Wave enhancement” and “be luminious”. With a few spritz (careful not to overdo it!) and a few scrunches, I had sufficiently beachy hair. I was especially pleased since the next product for me to try was the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray (which is pretty darn costly). Anyhow… the spray did make my hair soft, scrunchy, and yet perfectly shiny. Love it!

Fall Nails- Easy Bionic Buy with "After Midnight"

As we all know, dark nails are HOT for fall and winter. Instead of spending more money on the OPI, Essie and Chanel brands, Bionic searched out a new Limited Edition Sally Hansen nail polish color. “After Midnight” is a fantastic dark navy blue, an almost exact duplicate of OPI’s “Midnight in Moscow”. And for only $4.99, you gotta love the price!

*Edit on 23 September: This polish is VERY long-wearing. My nails typically chip with 24 hours, now three days later I’ve yet to see a chip! Hooray!

Beauty Review: Maybelline SuperStay Silky Foundation

Bionic’s sample of Maybelline’s new SuperStay Silky Foundation arrived!

Although the sample was pretty tiny, there was more than enough for one full application. Bionic’s sample color was Medium 2, also called “Pure Beige”.

SuperStay Silky is available in 12 shades (5 for light skin, 4 for medium skin, and 3 for dark skin).

The makeup applied exceptionally smoothly! You blend a lotion-like substance with the colored foundation and then swish them all around your face to blend. The makeup seemed to melt into the face and really *did* leave your skin SILKY!

The color melded nicely and provided a transfer-free medium coverage while not making your face feel “clogged”. Another wonderful result- the makeup really did last all day! Through wind, humidity and even a bit of rain. Incredible!

You can find Maybelline Superstay Silky Foundation, Medium 2 at Drugstore.com for $10.99.
