Freebies: Nexxus Samples Offered!
Nexxus haircare is offering free 1 oz samples of their highly acclaimed Therappe Shampoo and Humectress Conditioners. This way you can try before you commit to the entire bottle! (Personally, I hate getting a new shampoo only to find out the formula doesn’t work for my hair. Then you’re stuck with an entire bottle to use up…)
I hope everyone enjoys!

Bionic Diary: Day 2 of Detox
Well, things are still going smoothly with my New Year’s detox plan. The Boots product is really gentle and tastes great. I’m not tired of it, and it’s very easy to work into my day.
I did some research about detoxing and found that you should check with a doctor before starting a plan, especially if you have any health conditions. Also, do not forget to take your daily multi-vitamin supplement since your body needs those vitamins to keep up functioning; and plenty of water helps to flush your system giving your even more benefits from the detox.
Until tomorrow… ![]()

A New Look for Bionic Beauty
In honor of the New Year approaching, I have revamped the Bionic Beauty blog with a whole new look. The background has been lightened up, fonts are changed a bit, but most everything is in a familiar place.
However, the Navigation buttons that were at the top of your screen are now along the left sidebar. Here you can find links to the About page (a little background about me and the blog), our Comment Policy, some of the Awards the blog has won, information on the Mobile version of Bionic (for your cells, pocket PCs, or smartphones!), and a nifty Contact form to keep in touch.
As always, I would *love* to hear your thoughts about the new design. Do you see something that needs to be fixed? Can’t find something you were used to? A bug? A, well, whatever. Just leave a comment below and I’ll respond as soon as possible.
Cheers!

Bionic Diary: Day 1 of Detox for the New Year
As a way to kick off 2008, I am using the Boots “Feel the Difference Five Day Detox Plan“. Today is Day One and so far, so good.
The plan includes 5 days worth of supplements that are blended from natural ingredients that help target your body’s detoxifying organs (liver, etc). Ingredients include Schizandra (an herb), Green Tea, Ginger, Grape Vine Leaf, and Marine Plant Bark. Sounds odd, and I was expecting the taste to follow suit. Truthfully though, it’s actually pretty yummy… and easy! You mix a vial of flavored liquid (mine is Strawberry) into 1 quart of water and drink it throughout the day. It takes like a light strawberry tea.
Check back tomorrow for my progress!
If any readers would like to detox along with me, you can find the Boots Detox kit at local Target stores for $19.99.

Bionic’s Review of Lancome’s Color Design Blush

I have long loved cream blushes. They are versatile, super blendable, and wear incredibly well. They also tend not to look “fake” or cakey on your cheeks. After all, if you wear blush, you are looking for color, a super-stack of pancake makeup.
Lancome’s newest offering is Color Design Blush. Pretty pots of cream blushes that are really quite addicting. Since I’ve tried Freeze Frame (a light pinky-bronze shimmer) three weeks ago, I haven’t left the house without it! The color is absolutely amazing. Makes me look all pretty and dewy! I am also fond of the Retro Rouge (a rich matte red) and Chic Cassis (a dark mocha berry) for evenings or parties.
I’ve had no adverse reactions on my (very) sensitive skin while using these blushes. Just be careful to apply a little, blend, then if you want more color, add a little more on top. I’ve been wearing the Freeze Frame on the front circles of my cheeks and blending it outward in all directions. It makes for a much fresher look that the old way of blending up and into your temples/hairline.
Lancome’s cream blushes are available in seven shades from light neutrals (Model Mocha and Creme Couture), Pinks and Berries (Petticoat Pink, Pret a Plum, and Chic Cassis) to Reds and Corals (Freeze Frame and Retro Rouge). The pigments are saturated and you only need to apply a teensy bit. So, even though they seem a tad pricey initially, the little pots will last you 6 months or longer!
The blushes are available through Lancome’s website and run $26 (USD).
