Product Review: Coastal Scents Eyeshadow

Product: Coastal Scents Mineral Eyeshadow in Ignite (a light peach-taupe with shimmer).
Review: This eyeshadow is gentle (no pulling or tugging on delicate skin) and wears well. I wore it over my entire lid for a natural day look. Since it’s light, it would be a great color as a highlighter, in the inner eye corners, or even across the bridge of the nose or tops of cheeks. Even though it is light, the color saturation was high and pressed into the skin. I am certainly looking forward to trying some of the darker colors for evening wear.
Coastal Scents offers their eyeshadows in a vast range of 72 colors. And all can be used wet or dry, as shadows or liners.
Scroll down a teeny bit to see my application. I applied the shadow across my entire lid with a small natural-bristle shadow brush, then used a dark grey eyeliner for emphasis and one coat of black mascara.
Availability: Online at Coastal Scents.com for $7.95 for a sifter jar.

Makeup and Holiday Sparkles

Remember ladies, this holiday season don’t go overboard on the glitter. If you sparkle on your eyes, don’t top your lips with glimmer too. Play up just one feature (cheeks, lips, eyes, skin) with shimmer and you will be festive but not “that girl”.
Typically I will break out a little extra sparkle by applying a shimmery shadow on my browbone and then *lightly* sweeping same color across the bridge of the nose and one strip across your cheeks. It just adds a subtle shine, not even noticeable. Another alternative, if you are showing shoulder is to use body lotion with shimmer (such as those by Jergens or Revlon) and apply across your shoulders. You’re skin will have a healthy glow under lighting, but you will not appear faux tanned.
Also, take into account what you plan to wear. A charcoal gray or little black dress with rhinestones demands sophisticated makeup. Stick with a glammed up version of the natural look.
Just a friendly Bionic reminder. Share your holiday makeup tips below!
