Red faced cold… ouch!
While watching the Giants play Green Bay in the frigid cold last night, I noticed NY coach Tom Coughlin could really use some skin care advice. For those who did not watch, it was -4 degrees, and -24 degrees with the wind chill. And Tom did not even have his face covered. First quarter, he was a little pink, and at the half he was bright red with white raccoon eyes (I’m guessing the skin around his eyes was already frozen and had given up hope of being warm).
By the end of the game, his face was purple. I swear… PURPLE! It was painful to look at. I even joked with my husband that they were going to need to put a warning disclaimer for “graphic images” for the broadcast.

Poor guy. I sure hope he’s getting some balm on that skin. Ouch!
Let this be a lesson to us all- don’t forget to wrap up against the wind and cold this winter!!

A Review of Curel’s Ultra Healing Lotion
Back in October, Bionic Beauty mentioned a free sample for Curel’s Ultra Healing Intensive Lotion. The free sample promotion is now over, but I’m here with a product review.

In the dry winter, hand lotion is a must. And one that performs is like finding a needle in a haystack (and just as rough on one’s hands). The Ultra Healing lotion applied nicely. Creamy and soaked in rather quickly. I started using this lotion after my hands had become cold, cracked and chapped (after the December ice storm) and it healed them up in a few days. The scent is mild, nothing extraordinary, which is actually nice for a change. I don’t think we always need to have our hands smelling like the local florist.
Great buy and I will certainly repurchase, especially when my hands need an extra bit of attention.
Curel lotions can be purchased at your local drugstore or get Curel Ultra Healing Intensive Moisture Lotion for Extra Dry Skin for $7.79 for a 13 oz bottle at Drugstore.

Introduction to Joycey Couture
Bionic Beauty has added a new contributing beauty blogger to our lineup, Joycey Couture (don’t miss her first post here). Below is a quick Q and A with Joyce.
What is your favorite simple beauty tip?
Bronzer. It’s a necessity for me. My makeup regimen is simple; and on a Saturday, you may find me only wearing this! It fakes that sun-kissed, cheeky glow… without the added wrinkles later! And there are so many kinds, colors and brands to choose from… finding the one for you will be an adventure.
What is your must-have makeup or skincare item?
Vaseline. I know it sounds old to say it… but it’s true! What other product can cure numerous skin ailments!? It’s great for your eyelashes (and takes even waterproof make-up right off!), chapped lips, nasal congestion, and cracked feet (or flip flop feet, as I like to call them). The list goes on and on. Of course, it’s also used as a base in other skin lotions and cosmetics, but why not use the real thing?
What does Powerful Beauty mean to you?
“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we must carry it with us or we find it not.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Check out the About page for a photo of Joyce and her complete biography!
