Product Review: Ferro Mineral Makeup is a Winner

Ferro Cosmetics provides all natural, eco and face friendly mineral makeup that behaves more like traditional makeup. This is the most blendable mineral makeup I have tested!! It did not clump or dry out my skin (which is my largest complaint with typical mineral makeup). My result was an even complexion that lasted the day, yet you could still see my skin underneath.
I actually broke out badly last week (long story and another post but I had tried a face scrub, St. Ives Apricot Scrub, that has always reacted extremely badly with my skin). I’m not sure why I continue to try it every few years… anyhow, due to this, I figured if Ferro could cover some of the breakouts and help neutralize the mess I had made of my face, it would certainly be a worthwhile product.
For medium to light coverage, use the Radiance foundation. I found this perfect for everyday use, weekends, whenever. For extra coverage and a few of my trouble spots, I turned to the Ultimate foundation.

Both foundations easily blended over my discoloration and pimples. Very impressive! And my skin actually improved during the 5 days I used the minis (small sample sizes that Ferro offers). I’m sure some of the improvement was due to the fact I stopped using the scrub, but typically makeup on top of irritation on my skin just causes itchiness and some further swelling.
I also tested the Rose Crystal Mineral Veil and the Glow Bronzer in Glow Baby.
The Rose Crystal Mineral Veil is perfect for highlighting areas- I would suggest using it on your chest, upper arms in the summer and it is PERFECT under a matte blush if you’d like a tad more shimmer. This way you can have your matte blushes and pump them up with shimmer when you want to!
The Bronzer in Glow Baby Glow was another winner. The color is buildable without being cakey. I never felt that my face screamed (BRONZER!!!!), instead the product imparted a tanned glow. I used this to sculpt my cheeks, and a pinch on my nose and chin.
Overall, two thumbs up.
You can purchase the Ferro Cosmetics items online. Try the mini’s if you are hesitant on colors.
Stay tuned for an upcoming post where I created a very natural makeup look using Ferro and Coastal Scents products.

First, thank you for the review of this mineral makeup! Second, try using the scrub on your feet, elbows and knees since you can’t use it on your face anymore. It’s btter than throwing it out! ;o)
This sounds like a fantastic mineral makeup BB. Blendable is key.
Those dang scrubs can really irritate my skin as well. I prefer a scrub using either sugar or almonds. It is great to use a physical exfoliant once or twice a week, and avoid any areas that are breaking out.
Cannot wait to see your new natural makeup look! Jen
I’m so scared of exfoliating lately, that I’ve just resorted to using my normal face wash on a terry wash cloth. It seems like they are just so harsh. I must admit, I haven’t tried one with almonds though. Thanks for the advice!
Jessica- GREAT idea, thank you! It will certainly help me get rid of my “winter feet”.

Oooohhh, this looks good! I’m right now bouncing around their site, and I’m really tempted to order something!
Thanks for the review, BB!
My sympathies with the scrub! I react the same way with that very same product, and like you, I still feel tempted to try it again every so often. Why do I even bother?!!!
These days, I get the best results scrubbing with plain old granulated sugar and some face cream/moisturizer/lotion I just want to use up.
