Benefit’s Lust Dusters Launched

Lust Dusters by Benefit Cosmetics
Lust Dusters: These loose, shimmery mineral powders were just launched by Benefit Cosmetics. I haven’t tried them as yet. But I wanted to put the word out in case any Bionic readers were looking for something fun to try. The Lust Dusters are “shimmering, loose powders for eyes and face”. When mixed with Benefit’s She Laq (their makeup sealer), the dusters can be used as a liquid eyeliner. Currently 9 shades are available from whites and neutrals to a pop of blue and purple.

Priced at $18 for a sifter jar.

I Glow In The Dark

Do you? :)

Glow in the Dark

Jergen’s skincare has launched the campaign “Glow in the Dark” in support of the The Skin Cancer Foundation. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States with greater than 1 million cases diagnosed every year.

With the sunlight months approaching, we all need to be mindful of our skin exposure. Wear your SPF! Sunglasses, hats, however you cover up, please do it. Encourage your hubbies, roomies, significant others, friends to do the same.

To get the summer glow we all want, choose Jergen’s Natural Glow sunless tanners (or one of the other myriad of tanner lotions out there these days). With sunless tanners, there’s no chance of skin cancer, no painful sunburn, and you can control the areas you color.

Feel better: Take the “Glow in the Dark” pledge and Jergen’s will donate $1 to The Skin Cancer Foundation. Plus the first 500 people to take the pledge will win a “I Glow in the Dark” T-shirt like star Kirsten Bell (of Heroes and Veronica Mars) sports.

Lancome’s Bi-Facil Gently Removes Makeup

Bi-Facil Eye Makeup RemoverIn all honesty, most eye makeup removers do their job sufficiently well. Heck, I never bothered with eye makeup remover until recently. I just used my normal facial cleanser, twice, to ensure I got all the goop off.

With those facts in mind, we will look beyond the “Does it remove makeup? Yes or No.” in this review.

Lancome’s Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover is packaged in a clear blue plastic bottle with a twist on (and leak-proof top). The dispenser is a small hole that you can dab the product onto a cotton ball/pad for application. The small hole keeps even a klutz like me from dumping too much remover or spilling it across my bathroom counter.

Shake Bi-Facil well before application. Get some on the cotton pad and then swipe onto your eye makeup. I found it removes my eye makeup pretty well, and most important- gently. There was no drying action and no pulling on sensitive eye skin. I found best results with one cotton pad for each eye, a few swipes (don’t scrub, ladies), and then leave the remnants of the product on your eye. Wash the Bi-Facil left-overs off during your normal face wash. Ta-da, eye makeup removed!

If you’ve done a smokey eye, or have quite a bit of eye makeup on that day, you may need a second pad, but I found this to be the exception and the Bi-Facil remover even removed my CoverGirl waterproof mascara easily.

Lancome’s Bi-Facil can be purchased online at Lancome.com, $26 USD for a 4.2 ounce bottle (it will last you quite awhile!).

Friday Freebie: Nautica’s My Voyage Fragrance Sample

Free Perfume Sample from Nautica Coty Fragrances is offering a small sample of the new fragrance, My Voyage. You can request yours at the Coty website. Act quickly (meaning- don’t delay or you might miss out). The form was simple to fill out, although I did have a problem when they asked “Where do you normally purchase these items?” There was no Target, no grocery stores, and no mass-market retailers listed. Grrr…

Anyhow, go request yours. It sounds like a nice, summery fragrance!

Blog Star Award Nominations

First off, I want to give a small explanation to the Bionic Beauty readers. The previous two weeks have been hectic, to say the least. My husband and I are planning a big move to Florida this summer, our house is on the market, photographer out, and all that jazz. So, thanks for sticking around even though the posting has been a bit slower than usual. I’m trying to stay “bionic” through this and knowing you all are out there, makes me feel much more grounded.

You are a Blog Star!

Next up, as part of this week’s 52 Weeks of Community project, I am nominating 3 blogs that have made an impact on my online reading and offline life. The women behind these blogs are incredible individuals, each in their own way. All have Achieved Powerful Beauty!

Without further ado, I present Mythbuster Beauty, Cheap But Not Easy and Life Candy with a Blog Star Award!

Mythbuster Beauty: I’ve been reading her blog since I discovered her in a random Google search. I was hooked. Our blogs started right about the same time (mid 2007) and I subscribed after checking back each day for a week. Jen’s blog is honest, personal, and not to mention fun.

Cheap But Not Easy: Another blog that I discovered, I believe when Erin left a comment here, but it’s all really a blur. I headed over to check out her blog and the writing style had me addicted. She’s quirky, sassy, and intelligent. And since I’m a bargain shopper/liver, I find her ideas seeping into my everyday life.

Life Candy: Loved the name of the blog, love the gal behind the blog- Nenette. I enjoy her posts, they make me laugh, ponder, and discuss (probably sometimes babbling my husband’s ear off).  I have been a reader since I discovered it (it’s been at least 6 months now I’d guess).

If I am overwhelmed (as am I right now) and can force myself to sit down, a simple visit to these blogs will inevitably bring a smile to my face.  In fact, while writing this post and visiting their blogs to create the links, I am already feeling better.
