e.l.f.’s Tone Correcting Concealer - Quite the Bargain!
This teeny tube of concealer is my new favorite. My under eye circles have finally met their match!

E.l.f’s products are hit and miss with me. I like their Tinted Moisturizer, love their cream shadow duos, am blase about the Shimmering Facial Whip, but their concealer is perfect for me.
It comes packaged in a tube with a soft-tipped wand applicator (like many lip glosses). I appreciate the tube being clear as it makes it easy to judge how much product remains. Application was easy. I tried putting it underneath my standard face makeup (apply, then let it set for a minute or two) and also on top of my makeup/tinted moisturizer and both worked equally well. If you are using this with a powdered mineral makeup, be sure to apply the concealer first. (A liquid over top of a powder product creates horrendous clumping action.)
All day wear, no running and no creasing, and it covered so beautifully! I can’t really ask for more than that.
The only drawbacks I experienced: 1) The cap on mine separated from the swab applicator, so I have to remove the cap, and then unscrew the applicator wand and 2) the product tends to separate a little in the tube, but a few quick shakes remedies this situation.
The
Tone Correcting Concealerby e.l.f. cosmetics can be purchased online for $1, or try your local K-Mart store.

Reader Review: Ferro Mineral Makeup
Bionic Beauty reader, Claudia (she’s the winner from our Ferro Mineral Makeup Giveaway), has kindly agreed to share her thoughts on Ferro’s Mineral Makeup products.
Just wanted to let you know that I received my Ferro prize on Monday, and tried the cosmetics out the next day. I have to say, they are REALLY nice! I especially loved the Eye Candy powders, which lasted a long time even though I failed to use an eyeshadow base first! Everything came in a cute gift bag, too. I’m definitely going to be ordering more Ferro cosmetics in the future!
Thanks Claudia!!

Coastal Scent’s Eyeliner in Indigo - An Affordable Blue Alternative

While the eye’s of makeup junkies everywhere are focused on MAC’s latest “Naughty Nauticals” collection, this bargain shopper has found an alternative to give your peepers the summer look. Coastal Scent’s new Pencil Me In eyeliner in Indigo is a real winner. The slate blue eyeliner has a bit of shimmer to open your eyes and deflect light. It applies incredibly smooth and even comes with it’s own sharpener in the cap! The pigment is rich and saturated.
I’ve used this blue to line my entire eye (top and bottom), just the top and even blended it out for a smoky blue haze look. No irritation and it sets quickly and wears through the day.
The best part? This eyeliner will only set you back $6.99 (available at CoastalScents.com) and is available in 30 (yes, thirty!) colors. MAC’s is$14.99. Huh.

Lancome’s Color Design Eyeshadow Palette and Look

This eyeshadow palette from Lancome really packs a punch. The range of warm colors (this is the Couture Warms collection) are saturated and cover a range of wearable colors. The shadows wear *incredibly* well- no creasing or smudging and very little fall-out, even with the intense shades! The case is great too. Shiny black patent type with padding and a magnetic closure. It feels high-class and I like the padding for travel or carrying along in your purse.
- Strut is a gorgeous deep green perfect for brown or hazel eyes, it’s one of Lancome’s “intense” shades.
- Couture is matte berry brown great for contouring or lining eyes. Also an “intense” shade.
- Designer works well with Strut as it is an olive (think camo or khaki) green with metallic shimmer.
- Model is very unique copper shimmer. I love, love this shadow!!
- Pose is a golden copper metallic. This shadow goes on strong or light depending on your brush. Love it alone or blended for an entire look.
- Vue is my second favorite in the palette. It’s a pink toned neutral shadow with slight shimmer. It’s a perfect base for a “no-makeup” look or as a primer under your other shadows.
- Positive is a matte cream. Beautiful under the brow as a highlighter and in the corners of eyes (by your nose bridge) to brighten.
- Daylight is an absolute matte white. I really like using this for a brow bone highlighter.
Here’s a look I created using Model, Vue, Pose and Positive.

I wanted something to wear with a brown, orange, peach and white spring dress over the weekend. Since the dress was patterned and colorful enough, I did not want something overly dramatic on my eyes. And this look was born! I paired it with a muted red lip stain. But a Berry or red lipstick or gloss would look just as nice.
I primed my lid and just up past the lid with Vue.
Then I used Positive on my brow bone and blended the line between Vue and Positive really well.
In the very center of my lid (just above your iris when looking straight ahead), I applied Pose.
For the outer corner of my lid, I used Model. I then blended the shadows on my lid together (Vue is still in the crease, Pose in the middle, and Model in the outer) slightly so there were no strong changes in color.
For a little extra punch and to define my eyes, I used my favorite black kohl eyeliner to draw a very thin line along my upper lashes. For night, you could line both your top and bottom lashes.
Finished with 1 coat of black mascara.

Lancome’s Color Design Artist Palette is available online at Lancome-USA.com for $70. You can choose from the Couture Warms (which I reviewed), Stylish Neutrals (browns and mauves), or Best Dressed Cools (range of blues and grays).
