Pinky, Welcome to Bionic Beauty!! I used to use the John Frieda Summer Blonde Surf spray- it was fantastic, but sadly has been discontinued. You could try Bumble & Bumble's surf spray- I have seen some drugstores and Target stores carrying it, or your local B&B salon.
In my opinion, the sprays make it easier to achieve the beachy-wave look. However, I currently use the Garnier surf wax to create piecey waves. Just rub a small amount between your palms, then spread evenly through your hair. Use your fingers to twist tendrils into "ropes" and let them sit like that until you go out, then run your fingers through them lightly to loosen them up. :)

I'm going to post a recipe I came up with to create your own surf spray as well, so stay tuned!
Cheers,
BB

Denise, I'm hardly doing anything with my hair this summer either. A little leave-in like Nenette seconded and I'm out the door. Too much hassle to style and such.

Jen, Thanks for the recommendation; You know I'm a shampoo and conditioner nut so I'll give that one a shot!

Cheap Chick- OUCH!! I'm mandating a hat for you next time. ;)

Jenna, Sounds like our mom's knew what they were talking about. Mine did the same thing.
For the frizzies- I'd try some samples of the John Frieda frizz ease line (Walmart runs the freebies from time to time) and I'm loving the AG Hair Cosmetics serums. They are lightweight, not as drying as many other serums, and really seal the cuticle to cut flyaways.

Growing up -- I practically lived at the swimming pool. I remember my mom always made us put conditioner in our hair during break-time. : ]

Anyways though, I've been having some trouble lately with frizz. It's so humid outside - I can not seem to figure out a good way to tame my hair! Any suggestions?

Ugh, WHY didn't I read this yesterday? I totally burned my scalp, even though it was only 65 degrees up in here.

I try not to blow dry as much in the summer, especially when it's humid. Why bother? My hair is just going to kink up anyway.

I always encourage my girls to put some conditioner on their hair before going to the pool. It makes a huge difference.

My favorite conditioner is DevaCare's One Conditioner, it works great as a deep conditioning treatment as well.
