My never ending quest to test shampoos and conditioners continues with Davines Alchemic System Shampoo and Conditioner for Natural and Coloured Hair. I have the Chocolate variety which is made for dark brown to black hair (my hair is currently medium brunette). There are varities for light brown, red, copper, blonde, and silver hair- so there’s something for everyone.
I love the science and research behind this brand and it shows in the quality. Unlike most lines created for color specific hair, this one actually works. It keeps my color fresh and vibrant and the conditioner really leaves my hair soft. I experienced no build-up and the scent is different, but in a good way- it’s slightly woodsy. My only complaint is the glass packaging. It looks sleek and luxurious, but I am terrified I will drop it in the shower.
Davine’s is available in salons around the world. Check the Davine’s website for salon locator and products for other hair types.

Sounds like a great haircare line, but I feel the same way about glass containers in the shower. One slip and kablam!
Could you pour it into a plastic container? I worry about your safety with that in your shower!
And why do companies put bath products in glass bottles anyway?
Excellent idea Cheap Chick! I think I will probably dish out smaller amounts into travel containers and such. That will make them easier to deal with and more klutz proof.
For this line, I am guessing that the glass bottles are to prevent any sort of reactivity with the chemical makeup of the shampoo and conditioner. But it may just be easier to recycle as well. I’ll look into it and see what I find.
