Hi Lucy, It sounds like your skin is sensitive like mine as well. I get acne on my cheeks and chin occasionally. The minor scaring should clear up with Jojoba Oil (it's the closest oil to our natural sebum and is great for healing, clearing up actual, declogging pores, mixing with masks, balancing oils, conditioning hair/body/nails/skin, etc. It's quite amazing!! Here's my article on 15 uses for Jojoba Oil), the mask I mentioned, and also with a gentle exfoliation (such as the microfiber cloth I mentioned in the Acne article and also YBF's Prep). Just don't use something like St. Ives Apricot scrub. That is going to be WAY TOO rough for your skin and will probably cause further irritation, redness and breakouts.

Also, remember that when you switch skin care routines, you *may* (I stress MAY, not everyone does) experience a breakout cycle as your skin detoxes and pushes all the ickiness that has been built up in your pores.

Another line to check out that is excellent for my skin is Lexli Skincare. Here is my review and here is a link to the Lexli website.

Cheers,
Jami

Thank you for your suggestions. I will be trying what you said. I did forget to mention, but I do have an acne problem, it's not severe, but I do have here and there breakouts on my face and then they leave them bad scars and red spots. How do I get rid of that? I don't wear make-up just on special occasions to cover up, because I'm afraid to wear it daily and have more breakouts than usual. I really perfer not use make-up on my skin I just put the shadow and lipstick. I would love to have great skin so I can pick up my hair more instead of using it to cover my blemishes.

Hi Lucy,

Firstly, oil is your friend... I know that you didn't necessarily mention acne as a problem, but your larger pores, whiteheads and combination skin sound very close to my skin type. This article outlines my typical skin care regimen. It's worked VERY well for me. I also use the Aztec Secret clay mask once a week to balance my skin, reduce pores, etc. Here's my review of that mask- it's super affordable, and you can customize it for what your skin is acting like each week. I've included lots of recipes to get you started! Plus check out the comments section on that article for tips from fellow Bionic Beauty readers.

My other recommendation is to use YBF Skincare's Prep. It's a micro-exfoliator wash/scrub/mask all in one. I'm still testing it and took before & after photos, so I'll have the review up soon. I know it seems pricey, but their products are absolutely incredible! I swear by them! Here's a link to their website: ybf-skincare.com.

I hope this helps! Please be sure to comment back with any further questions. I am here to help... and also "Welcome to Bionic Beauty!" I hope to continue to see you around the website!

All my best,
Jami

I need help with my skin. My pores are pretty big around my nose. I have tried lots of products and nothing works. So Im looking for something natural for my skin. Some products dry my skin out. Normally I have oily skin, but the products have kinda dry out some areas of my skin, my nose though is still oily and produces alot of whiteheads. Any suggestions on what I could do?

Thanks for this, I'll give it a try. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent ingredient, I think it's really great against acne and acne scars! I personally use the following mask quite often:

1-2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. green tea (cold)
5 tsp. sugar
1-2 tsp. honey

I'm gonna test your recipe tomorrow evening, I think. :)
