John Frieda Root Awakening Products are the best thing going. I believe they are must better than their high priced counter parts. I have fine, thin hair and these products make me feel like I have a head full of hair. I hope they continue with these and make additional products along this line.

Phyllis, the Awaken your Roots line does contain sulfates, but the L'Oreal Ever Pure is sulfate-free. It's only $5-6 a bottle at drugstore.com or your local drugstore. I honestly think it works better than the Beauty without Cruelty brand. :)

Cheap Chick, I love his blonde products too! Even when I'm not blonde. ;) At least try the leave-in spray. I think you're hair would really like it.

Tashi, I'd start with the Leave-in Treatment spray (it's basically a leave-in conditioner). That should work very well for your curly hair. It doesn't truly add body or lift, just makes hair more manageable, and SOOOO soft. With those qualities, I'd think it would be perfect for helping to keep curls in shape and moisturized.

Sounds great! Do you know if Root Awakening is good for curly hair? I'm not into root-boosting products, because honestly, I'm not sure how to use them, nor sure if I'd even use them correctly. I have good luck with other JF products, and will look for this one, thanks for the 411!

I heart John Freda - he's my big hair care splurge! I usually use his blonde products, but I think I'll have to give Root Awakening a try. Thanks for the great tip!

I use an SLS free brand of shampoo and conditioner from Beauty Without Cruelty. I get it at drugstore.com as my local store carries the brand but not the formula I like. It's about $11.00 per bottle but it is often on sale.
