Also, the honeybee population is declining quickly.

The bee disappearance is so widespread that it is blamed for losses of up to 70% of the managed bee colonies in U.S. beekeeping operations.

While the causes for Colony Collapse Disorder are unknown, we do know that forces like habitat destruction, misuse of pesticides, invasive species and global warming create risks to honeybees.

I have heard so many people rave about Burt’s Bees. I would really like win.

Neat stuff! My two facts are:

Bees collect 66 lbs of pollen per year, per hive.

To produce one pound of honey, honey bees must visit two million flowers and fly 55,ooo miles.

I’m game:
1) Honey bees as a group appear to have their center of origin in South and Southeast Asia (including the Philippines).
2) Honey bees perform tremble dances which recruit receiver bees to collect nectar from returning foragers .
