Bionic Asks: Body Wash or Soap

Bionic Beauty Asks - Makeup and beauty question blog article series

This week’s Bionic Asks
What’s in your shower- body wash, soap or both?

I’m a both gal. A bar of Herbaria or KalaStyle soap plus a body wash (or two or three). The soap bars are for sensitive areas like my neck and behind the ears (like mom always said- you gotta wash there too). The body washes are for use with my pouf. Wonderful lather and some light exfoliation. My current favorite is Another Bloody Shower Gel by Anatomicals.
I usually alternate days between the soap and shower gel, so I’m not exfoliating everyday.

So what do you lather up with?

I do both too! There’s an organic farm near here that makes it’s own goats milk & vegetable oil soap. I love their Happy Camper (with citronella for camping) and cinnamon swirl soaps. It’s great for the stinkier areas. But I have oily skin, so I need to exfoliate every day, so I use a poof with body wash for all over (and to get soap residue off), with just about any of the Bath & Body Works lines.

I always use shower gel or scrubs. I have never been a fan of bar soap. I always feel like I have a residue left on my body after I use bar soap. With gels and scrubs, I feel really clean and fresh. Maybe it is just me. I don’t know!!!

I prefer shower gel….but sometimes I like bars too but usually of the same variety. I adore Dr. Bronner’s castille soaps. They are so versatile and can be used to clean just about anything including your body, hair, clothes, dishes, and floor! Now that’s a soap! I also love the fact that they are fair trade and SLS free.

I love body wash and shower gel! I love the bath and body works shower gel. As well as the Softsoap nutraserums body wash! But then again, Caress evenly gorgeous body exfoliator is cool too. I got all three of my favorites for free! So I don’t usually buy soap, cuz I get them for free constantly.

I really don’t like bar soap though, the bar feels kinda rigid cuz it doesn’t bend for curves and everything, I feel it’s easier just to take some body wash and rub it on!

I like using both bar soap & body washes! I’ll always love Dove and Olay soaps, but love trying new body washes, too…. I especially love Softsoaps Pomegranate & Mandarin Body Wash, I’ve been using it for a while now, and love how it gently cleans my skin.

i actually primarily use soaps now- i get natural and hand-made soaps, though, which tend to be less drying. swipe your bath pouf around the bar, and the lather is just like a body wash! i do have a few lush shower gels that i got in goody bags, so i use those on occasion, too, but i do find the natural soaps less drying because they don’t have SLS.

I love to try new body washes, although I can’t resist buying hand made bar soaps. Recently, I discovered Burt’s Bees Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary Body Wash…it should be called Fabulously RE-Freshing because that is exactly what it is. The scent and feel are wonderful.

As for the guest bath, I only keep body wash in there. The idea of people sharing bar soap is not pleasant.

I use body wash all the time. In fact, I can’t even remember the last time I used bar soap, unless forced at a hotel! I think it’s the fact that body washes come in so many yummy scents, which I’m a total sucker for.

Me? Both. Dial soap for sensitive areas, Suave body wash and poof otherwise. However, Cetaphil and small Ecotools flat circular sponge for my face and neck. Did I mention I have two types of body washes in the shower? :-) I just never know which fragrance I’m in the mood for that morning.

Oh Tashi, Don’t get me going on how many Body Washes I have stashed in my shower. Without running to count, I believe there are at least 5.

I’m testing my heart out for reviews on Bionic Beauty! :)
