Well, one thing I've learned from being a product junkie- I have invested a lot of money in nail polish! :)

But, with today’s economy I just don't have it in the budget to keep up with my old habits and, on top of all that, my favorites are thickening with age. Don’t frown if you've felt like I have- just add a bit of polish thinner to each bottle and you’ll get even more wear out of your pretty enamels. :)

i splurge more on skin care and am now holding back on the cosmetics. i once saw a 60 minutes program years ago that showed this one cosmetics manufacturer who sold the cosmetics to high-end cosmetics companies as well as lower-end, drugstore brands. same stuff, higher markup.

I completely cut out expensive treatments, like pedis and spray tans - even when you can find a deal on them, they're still too wasteful for my puny budget. And I agree with Luci, I'm trying to use up all the stuff I already own.

First off, I am trying to limit my time watching the news!!! Then when it comes to my personal beauty budget, I have started coloring my hair myself every other time....so it cuts salon visits in half.
An as you know, drugstore beauty coupons are EVERYWHERE...so I try to stockpile those...then I always try to hold out on shopping until I go ULTA..they have $5 off in all the major mags and combined with the coupons on their mailers I save a ton!!!!

I am not buying new items without testing or sampling them first. Even though things can be returned, we all have those extra lipsticks or powders we bought, tried it once, and "forgot" to bring it back to the store.

I am also using up some extra items that were lingering around, like travel sized cans of hairspray and shampoo samples. This is also good for reducing clutter and seeing exactly what you have!
