I tried the liquid kind from Lancome but it dries before I can smudge so I dropped it and am back to using Rimmel pencil eyeliner and it is alot cheaper and works just as good. And it smudges perfect for me. I have found the black colors are too harsh so I stick with the browns. Brown brings out my green eyes better than blacks also.

Foiling is super easy once you get the hang of it, and you can use so many colors, so you aren't limited in your choices. If you ever get a few extra mins you should give it a try. Just remember you only need a little water.

I have been an avid users of pencils for most of my life. I have only discovered Urban Decay 24/7 in Bourbon and 1999 and they are go to if have to run out of the house. If I have time though I definitely use gel/cream eyeliners. My latest favorite is from Coastal Scents in Boom Boom. I am obsessed with browns and copper but have been trying to break that mold and find other colors that would look good on me. I have also used Wet n Wild and Hip gel/creams and both were ok, Hip being a bit better for me. It sure takes a bit of getting used to and I keep experimenting with different brushes to find which one works best for me. So far my favorite brushes have been the angled liner fron Sonia Kashuk and and I think a "smudger" from ELF's studio line.

Foiling sounds interesting but with my busy life, I have very limited time.

I like the MAC liquid eyeliner - it really stays on, but on the downside, it's really hard to take off....

I actually prefer foiling mineral shadows as liners. I have about 35 various colors including black, silvers, golds, reds, pinks, purples, blues and greens, so I can change the whole look of my eyeshadow just by foiling an unexpected color for liner. I do have my HIP that I won in the auction and when I am wanting a dark bold line, that's what I use. My pencils are for my lazy days and I don't want to deal with foiling. I have found that either an angled flat brush or a regular flat brush works great, but you can also use a very thin paint brush from the local craft store as well.

My favorite right now is probably the super soft, long wearing liners that are cropping up everywhere. They are perfect for creating and smudging a smokey eye that stays put!
