We have just launched a mineral make up range on Cult Beauty called RMS Beauty. It’s new to the UK, but I think it’s been around in the US for a while. Have any of you tried/heard of it? http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/brand170_rms-beauty.php

Rose-Marie Swift is the founder, it is the only mineral range we have been recommended by our expert panel so far (will have a look at Purely though, sounds great!!). I have super dry skin too and the thing I loved about RMS is that the mineral pigments are suspended in a cold pressed, extra virgin mix of oils like Coconut and Jojoba, so they are not at all drying and can actually be used as a moistrising barrier on their own.

I love PurelyCosmetics. I have fair, sensitive skin and Robyn’s Skin Smoothing Fair Neutral is basically the perfect shade. And my skin is much happier than with other brands (and you can’t tell I’m wearing powder):)

I would love to try Purely Cosmetics, but don’t have the funds right now. I have to use up my Meow Cosmetics Flawless Foundation before I can buy anything else. It has a heavier coverage and doesn’t break me out but sometimes it can be cakey.

I am in love with Mineral Makeup that doesn’t have any fillers. BO makes me burn and itch horribly also. UGH!

Hey Stacy, I was going to suggest mixing with moisturizer too, here’s what I did: http://bionic-beauty.com/tip-mix-tinted-moisturizer/ but I see that it didn’t help you. Does your problem usually get worse during the “dry” season? Maybe you should move down to humid-Florida.

Robyn, I believe that it was the traditional formula that you sent. I have tried mixing with moisturizer and it didn’t work. I am thinking about asking my dr. if he knows of anything that will help. Unfortunately I have dry skin from my scalp to my toes! lol.

I love Purely Cosmetics (my fav) and Everyday Minerals (for certain items). And I’m addicted to using the Beauty Blender for all my minerals!

Hi Stacy -
I’m sorry to hear that our products aren’t working with your skin in the winter. I have a couple of suggestions that hopefully may help. Are you using the traditional formula, or the Skin Smoothing? The Skin Smoothing formula has some added ingredients that may help with that dry skin: jojoba and silk the most important. You also may want to try applying with moisturizer – apply a drop or two of moisturizer in the palm of your hand, tap the foundation on top and mix together, then apply. See if either of those help you.

I absolutely love the Purely Cosmetics mineral foundation, but thanks to my autoimmune disease that causes horrible dry skin, I haven’t been able to use it over the winter.
