This week’s Bionic Asks… What is your special occasion, dress-up or date-night hair style? Do you reserve certain styling products and appliances for those days? And how much time do you set aside to get your locks in shape for a big night out?
Personally, I usually end up flat ironing my hair after applying a light layer of Hana Shine Serum. Once my hair is laying sleek and straight, I apply some AG Split End Spa or other creamy-textured “conditioning” hair serum type of product to the keep the ends of my hair from frizzing. Then I mist over it all with a shine spray (I use YY’s Shiny Me Sweetgum spray).
Alternatively, I sometimes do pretty much the same, but use my flat iron to add some light waves throughout my hair, then mist it with a Sea/Beach spray (here are some previous reviews or just make your own!).

Nah, no special occasion styles for me — my hair is now much too short for doing much more than primping. I suppose if I want to walk on the wild side, I could throw on a hairband. But most times, they hurt my head and give me a headache, and I either have to remove them after a while, or try to tweak them to better fit my big noggin. I guess my huge brain is the problem, huh?
For VERY special occasions I straighten my hair but it happens once in a blue moon. My hair is too wavy, dry and way to much of it to do it all the time. No headbands or hats here either for the same reasons as Tashi: I get headaches since everything gets stretched out on my big head…I like that: huge brains
I like to put my hair into an updo, usually a half twist with some of the hair spilling out.
@ Tashi: thank you, I’ll have to check it out
my hair isn’t too long right now to do a bunch of up-do’s or anything fancy shmancy, but i absolutely love curling my hair!
so if i want to do something different, curling is the way i go. if my hair is shorter (chin length) then i like to play around with pomades and creams for the texturized bed head look.
big and messy is my go-to hair routine lol.
