Bionic Asks: Do you wear false lashes?

Bionic Beauty Asks - Makeup and beauty question blog article series

In recent year’s lash “accessories” have become quite popular. From false eyelashes to extensions, tinting and dyeing, and lash growth serums (I recently used DeaBella with good results after a few months of use). The quickest and most accessible are false lashes. There are a multitude of designs, lengths, colors, and even ones adorned with rhinestones. You can get a full lash line, small partials or individual lashes. And you can get them at almost any store!

My favorite is a full lash set from Ardell that I picked up a few years ago at my local drugstore (I paid around $4). I trimmed them a bit since it was too long for my natural lash line. They are easy to place, and are super comfy! I’ve also tried the Revlon Fantasy Length lashes, but they were so flexible that I had a really tough time getting them close to my natural lashes and keeping them straight. But again, they are pretty comfortable.

For less dramatic looks, I use a one centimeter partial lash (also by Revlon) and just apply it on the outer corner of my lids. It gives an “extra full” effect and looks acceptable even during the day. If you’re a newbie to false lashes, these are the type I would recommend. Due to the shorter segments, they are much easier to place and get close to your lash line.

This week’s Bionic Asks Do you wear false eyelashes? For what occasions? Do you have secret tips for a better application?

Oh, I love my false lashes! I wear them a lot – even for just a simple night out. My secret trick is to apply the glue to the lashes, then let it sit for about 30 seconds to a minute to get tacky, then apply. If you apply the lashes when the glue is still to wet, they tend to slide around a little bit.

Nope I don’t! I wish I had the patience to apply them, but lack the steady hand skills needed to make them look good.

I do LOVE the instant drama of lashes! It makes my eyes look better in photos. I usually just get the ARDELL ones at the drugstore, but I buy different ones depending on when I plan to wear them. Some look very natural, others give a full sweep that are great in photos and a night out.

I did for a while…but I found that towards end of day, my eyes would begin to itch where the glue was and I was relieved when I removed them at the end of the day. Haven’t had much success with the little lashes. They always seem to go on the wrong way. Now, I just try to mascara my lashes.

I used to use Ardell singlees!! they are so much fun :) now I use Revitalash regularly and don’t really need the falsies… BUT I did use them on New Years Eve and remembered why I stopped LOL taking them off. OUCH! I am sticking with my revitalash for now xo
