for a full size bottle of Perricone’s High Potency Eye Lift serum. I know this line is on many a woman’s wish list, but also on the “I don’t have the budget for that” list (it normally costs $95 for a 1/2 ounce bottle). So here’s your chance to win a bottle! It’s simple to enter, just comment and you’re golden. More entries for those who tweet, Facebook, etc. Read her article for details.
And now for some lovey themed quotes to get in you in, or out of the mood, for Valentine’s Day. For the record, I asked my dog to be my Valentine. He accepted with a “Woof”. So now I have a Valentine and don’t even need a special makeup look or dress!
For the jaded, Vday’er…
“Happy endings are just stories that haven’t finished yet.”
~Jane Smith, from the movie Mr & Mrs Smith.
And here’s one that truly speaks to me, since I believe our society has lost the definition of true love. So many people approach relationships as something disposable- like a rental agreement or a car that they’ll own for 5 years and trade in…
“Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.”

WOOT! I was just comin’ on to post a comment from yesterday’s post (I had to go get all my eye creams, lol), and was just about to order more Jeune d’age right after that. Thanks
I’m glad I had good timing then.
That doesn’t happen very often lately. ha ha ha!
Hi Jamie, I just wanted to say ‘hi’ and congratulate you on a blog I always read with a lot of trust. I love the format, the reviews, the fact that you walk away from the beaten part and bring new things to our attention, and most of all I like that there are no ‘traps’, no subscriptions, no spam. I think this is probably the 3rd or 4th review I ever wrote but I thought it would be good to get out of the ‘shadow’ and let you know that in my opinion, you do a great job! Congrats
oh, and thanks for the jeune d’age coupon, really wanted to try them out!
Wow… Musetica, I’m speechless. Thank you SO much for your kind words and message. You really brought a smile to my face.
I’m very, very happy to have you as a Bionic Beauty reader, and thanks for stepping out from behind-the-scenes and leaving a comment. You made my day!!
Have a great rest of your Friday and a splendid weekend,
Jami
No beauty finds this week. But I did find a long-lost treasured necklace that my grandma gave me, many moons ago when I was a teen. It means a lot to me, as Grandma passed away ten years ago, this coming May. I’ve been wearing it every day now, even though it doesn’t really match with everything.
No special weekend plans. But that’s okiedokie. Stuff may pop up. Happy weekend to y’all!!
Awww, Kathleen. I think your find tops ANY possible beauty find. I’m glad you found the necklace, it’s truly wonderful to have items like that which bring us closer to special people, or moments, in our lives.
And happy weekend to you too!
I miss her terribly. As I write, I’m wearing the necklace. It’s a silver-tone metal filligree purse that opens at the top. I *looooove* purses. Yup, it does top any beauty find! I like what you said: “….it’s truly wonderful to have items like that which bring us closer to special people, or moments, in our lives.” So true. The happiness from the memories we feel helps us radiate “beauty” from within. This necklace will never go lost again (I hope, anyway. lol). Thanks, Jami, for the piece, for hitting a good nerve and causing me to reminisce about my awesome Grandma.
I’m loving the Jeune D’age serum and I ordered the toner over the weekend. They were SO quick with the shipping when I ordered the serum and can’t wait to try the toner..
My skin is better….
Hi Jamie, I recently found your blog, mostly because I was looking for reviews of this product! I received some samples from Jeune d’age, and have been trying them out over the past couple weeks. I’ve never used a serum before, so I have to ask, does it feel like it sits on top of your skin and stay sticky when you apply it? I’d like to give this product a full shot at providing me good results, but if its not supposed to do that, I might move on to something else.
Hi Kelly, I’m going to email Bionic Bronnie (who is one of my contributing authors & whom did the review of Jeune D’age) and Mike from Jeune with your question. They should be able to respond to you. I only have the Jeune toner. I was overwhelmed with product testing so Bronnie helped me out. She’ll have all the details for you and can recommend what to do with that serum and how it should behave.
Stay tuned!
Jami aka Bionic Beauty
Hi Kelly,
I’ll chime in here since I’ve been using this serum since it was introduced. First question: are you using the entire packet for one application? There’s too much in there; I get 2-3 applications per packet. If you put too much on, I’d imagine it might sit on top too long. I use about half a packet, massage in circular motions, then let it soak into my skin. Takes about a couple of minutes. Hope this helps!
Robyn, Thank you so much for your first hand experience and tips on using the serum. I’m sure Kelly appreciates your response too!!
Have a Happy St. Patty’s Day!
~Jami
Robyn-
Thanks for the responses, from you and the others. I’m only using half a packet at night before I go to bed. I agree there is so much in there- half is enough for my face, neck and chest. I’ll try using even less to see if that helps at all.
I have pretty oily skin, so that could be a part of the problem. It just never quite sinks in, always stays slightly tacky to the touch. By the time I wake in the morning the parts of my face that didn’t have contact with my pillow look like an oil slick.
HOWEVER, I’ll say this- I went ahead and ordered a box because despite the annoyance, my skin has never felt softer. It was so moisturized yesterday that I didn’t even need to wear moisturizer, it felt great. So if sticky is all I have to put up with, I think its a small sacrifice. : )
Hello Kelly,
Yes, the product can feel that way at times but not always. It seems that it depends on when you apply it in the cycle of your skin “sluffing” off, much the same as a masque might have a different feel depending on when you use it. Serums do not feel the same as a typical face creme as they are geared more toward long term skin health than an immediate “feel” that something with silica might provide. We suggest applying the serum soon after a shower or bath for maximum penetration or at night before bed when your skin does most of its repair and healing.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or comments,
Thank you
Michael
Michael,
I can’t express how much I appreciate your response and help for Kelly in using the Jeune D’Age serum. Thank you for taking the time from your business to answer questions here on Bionic Beauty when they come up!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, by the way!
Cheers,
Jami
Michael-
Thank you for responding! Like I said above, I appreciate the advice and will definitely modify my routine a bit to see if it helps. Despite the stickiness I love the way the serum makes my skin feel, and for the price its worth further testing. Bonus, it hasn’t made me break out at all, and seems to help heal the blemishes I do have faster.
Michael had a better answer, AND it’s straight from the horse’s mouth
His was from the company and your’s was as a consumer. I think both are equally valuable and certainly both extremely helpful. (WOW, I’m just full of adjectives tonight, huh?)
J
Kelly,
Sorry for the delay, I am out of state….no computer until now.
I use an entire package 2x a day! Face, throat, neck, chest..I let it set up and soak in after the toner for a few minutes before applying any other product’s. It take’s time for any good product to reach body temp. and the cleaner and better toned your skin is, the better absorption of the product.
I don’t feel any residue, and often use the moisturizer and sunscreen and go without makeup because it has changed my skin tone so much.
My hyperpigmentation is gone and the compliment’s are endless.
I just got carded at Coyote Ugly and I’m 41!!!! He asked for my ID and I was sooooooo happy!!!!!! I even drank a shot of Jose Cuervo and the Coyote Ugly Hottie girl’s dragged be up and made Me dance on the bar with them! (I haven’t had a drink in about 10 years!)
I hope you try the serum…it truly is amazing…I was considering making my own product until I discovered Jeune D’age ..it has everything I would want and more….
Let Us know!
BB
Bronnie,
You rock!!!
Hugs,
Jami
P.S. It’s just that simple.
Hello Kelly,
I’m glad you’re having great results with our serum! At the risk of plugging one of our other products, you may want to try using a Toner and/or Cleanser before applying the serum. Most don’t seem to experience the slight stickiness but I did as well. From a personal experience the slight stickiness does seem to go away after continued use. Thanks and let us know if you have any more questions or comments.
Michael
