Bionic Giveaway - L'uvalla Organic Skincare Set!

In order to win…

Simply leave a comment below with a FACT you learned about organic skin care from the L’uvalla Skincare website. There’s a lot of mis-information and mis-labeling lately of organic and natural products in the beauty industry. So I thought we could all use a quick course on what “natural” and “organic” actually mean in the cosmetics world.

For instance, I learned that the “Eco-Cert COSMEBIO label, the most rigorous organic cosmetics recognition in the world, certifies that a minimum of 95% of total ingredients are natural and a minimum of 95% of plant ingredients are organic”.

The Rules: One (1) winner will be chosen randomly from the qualified entrants and will receive a L’uvalla Organic Skincare Balancing System set, as detailed above. Retail value is $101.62. To qualify for entry, you must follow the entry rules as outlined in this post. This giveaway is open to USA residents only. Please enter only once; duplicate entries will be detected and discarded. Entry deadline is January 19th, 2010 at midnight USA ET. The winner will be chosen via Random.org and will be announced here on Bionic Beauty and contacted via email. *Please note that I will never share your email address with anyone! I only use your email address to contact you if you are a winner. However, if you do not enter a valid email address, you will be disqualified. Please DO NOT post your email address in the comment body… *just* in the email address field (for your own safety).

Please don’t forget to sign up for the Bionic Beauty blog newsletter (or you can subscribe in your favorite RSS reader). This way you can easily keep up with the free samples, product reviews, beauty and makeup news and giveaways offered on the website.

Good luck Bionic Beauties!!

Share the love!

There are more differences between natural and organic than I originally thought. As an example, water is natural, and not organic, since it comes from a natural source

Here’s something I didn’t know from the FAQ:
” Salt, minerals, natural emollients and emulsifiers will not be able to receive an organic certification.”

“Organic” is a strict certification that identifies both the product’s ingredients and the production process itself as environmentally sound. And “natural” items come from a natural source.

It’s a myth that chemicals are more powerful or effective than natural ingredients. In fact, chemicals are derived from natural products but conventional skin care formulas often have only highly-diluted amounts of active ingredients. Organic products such as L’uvalla do not have fillers, so they have a higher percentage of active ingredients to give you more effective results.
I love organic skincare and haircare products I have tried so far :)

“We have nothing to hide! Discover what’s in our products by hovering your mouse over each ingredient.”

This access to how each ingredient works, its source, and especially what it is not, is empowering. Reading labels is not just for chemists anymore!

I always wondered why many products in “natural” or “organic” skincare lines had varying percentages of organic ingredients. I learned that this is because salt, minerals, natural emollients, emulsifiers, and especially water cannot be certified organic, “products using these ingredients will have a smaller percentage of certified organic in the total ingredients.”
