when i have to look extra fresh, i just use a scrub on my face, no puffery from origins on my eyes and a quick mask. then i put on my makup as usual
thanks! :)

2 kathemc January 19, 2009 at 12:48 pm

For me it’s regular exfoliation and masks. Wish I had the budget for regular facials, but not right now. As long as I exfoliate regularly, my skin looks happy and healthy, not sluggish. This time of year, I’m also all about the tinted moisturizer under my makeup, and eyeshadow base/primer to keep my shadows from creasing. Still haven’t found a foolproof solution for raccoon eyes from mascara, though.

Okay, I would say I really try to smile more, showing off my adorable dimples, but that sounds kind of cheesey (which it totes is).
So, I will say that have been using my Clarisonic brush to clean my skin, making it just glow. Once I use that, it seems to make any product I use just that much more effective – like a really great serum (hint! hint!). :)

I am the original “product junkie” and love to try new things! However, even with all the “mini-miracles’ stashed in my beauty arsenal, there is a certain program that I always seem to return to. Some of my regimen is not at all that glamourous! I like using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, mixed with a little baking soda when I need a scrub, for cleansing. I really prefer old-fashioned Pond’s Cold Cream to remove eye makeup even though I DO own all sorts of Lancome, Clinique, etc. eye makeup removers. There’s just something so Old Hollywood about Pond’s Cold Cream! If I want to do a mask, I love using the aspirin mask as, while I am not really a victim of rosacea, I have very pink undertones in my skin and the aspirin seems to tone it down. I usually use Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion as a toner, again, I like the salicylic acid in it to tame the redness down in my skintone although I do not have acne, either. It also helps to control my extreme facial oiliness. I layer (lightly, of course)several different serums, including Olay Regenerist, Lancome High Resolution Collaser-5X, and Sothy’s Hydroptimale TH13 Hydrating Serum. I am a firm believer in serums so I have quite a variety, depending on what I feel my skin needs at the time. Same with my eye creams. Right now, my favorites are Lancome High Resolution Eye Refill -3X and Prescriptives Anti-Age Advanced Protection Eye Cream SPF 25. I recently got Lancome’s Creme de Vie moisturizer and am loving it for overnight; for daytime, I’m currently using Prescriptives Anti-Age Advanced Protection Lotion SPF 25. I am a melonoma survivor, so sunscreen is very important to me! Now, I know that this is a lot of products to use at the same time, but as I said, the trick is in layering them VERY lightly. No, I do NOT feel as if I’m wearing a mask! I also mentioned how very oily my skin is. After all these products have had a chance to sink in individually, I use blotting sheets between layers! Then, I top it off with my gold-standard for preventing oily breakthrough—MILK of MAGNESIA patted on lightly with a cotton round! Now, I’m ready to do my primer, Monistat’s Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel and get on to the fun part of putting on my color cosmetics! YES, I love being a girl!

Exfoliation does the trick for us – it really seems to smooth away fine lines and leaves an awesome glow!

6 Zara January 19, 2009 at 5:47 pm

To achieve my best face I use Aveeno Skin Brightening Scrub daily and pHaze9 purifying mask once a week to keep my skin exfoliated and smooth. Also, I use Jurlique Moisture Replenishing Day Cream as my moisturizer and I really love it! My skin looks better since I started using it. I use a mineral foundation , Three Custom Color concealer , NARS Orgasm blush , L’oreal eyeshadow and MARK mascara as well and I wear makeup every day!

7 Patti Sherman January 19, 2009 at 8:31 pm

I don’t regularily do anything remarkable but I could certainly use this. I use a lot of Oil of Olay cleaning cloths & lotion but at my age, I need all the help I can get!

8 Monique January 19, 2009 at 8:42 pm

Since I was a young girl, I have loved wearing foundation. I probably wore too much, when I was younger and with much better foundation formulas I feel confident about my skin being covered from reddness without looking over-done. The best thing about my eagerness for coverage has been that most foundations have built-in SPF, and even though I worshiped the sun for years, I always had a protected foundation on my face.
Thanks for the contest!!

9 Stephanie C January 19, 2009 at 8:56 pm

I try to get as much sleep as possible and always use a moisturizer with SPF. Would love to find a product that I could use regularly to produce a beautiful face!

10 chicklus January 19, 2009 at 9:04 pm

I have been using spf and a straw hat for 10 years.

11 nikita January 19, 2009 at 9:06 pm

I try to eat healthy and take my vitamins, wear a sunscreen religiously, moisturize. I use a very gentle cleanser and exfoliate using a lactic acid every week. I avoid using makeup as far as possible. I try giving myself a facial every now and then using natural ingredients like yoghurt , honey etc. Basically, I try to follow a simple routine and I believe (though it might not be true) that all these factors have helped me to maintain an acne free skin for so long. :-) Cheers!!

12 Evelyn Franks January 19, 2009 at 9:13 pm

I use Avon anew night and day cream, but sometimes after I use a cream for awhile it seems to not work as well as when I started using it. I hope this Restore serum would fix this problem.

13 Linda F January 19, 2009 at 9:22 pm

I use moisturizer every day. I also make sure that if I do wear make-up, I remove it before going to bed at night.

14 Elyse January 19, 2009 at 9:43 pm

I think the question is “what DON’T I do?” to achieve my best face. I may come across like someone who has an obsessive complulsive disorder, but it’s not as complicated as it sounds. :) Anyway, my regimen includes Skinceuticals C & E Ferulic and A.G.E. Interrupter cream, Terasita Argiracol multi-peptide serum and C-Ret retinol serum plus Skin Actives Anti-Aging Cream with Resveratrol and a multi-lipid serum. I alternate the creams and serums on different days/seasons. My skin used to be very dry, but now it is normal. It is not sensitive. For exfoliation, I use a pumpkin peel in the winter and glycolic wipes in the summer. I don’t do facials. Oh yes, I also use a Clairisonic skin brush with Atopalm cleanser to wash my face… As a result, a recent VISIA image analysis showed my skin is much, much better than other women my age in the areas of wrinkles, skin tone, and pore size. However, it also showed I have a lot of creepy UV spots – sun damage beneath the skin that are only visible (at this point) on the digital image. I need to work on correcting this before the spots make an appearance on the surface of my skin. YBF makes some of the best (and most expensive) products on the market and RESTORE is supposed to be excellent for helping to correct sun damage. I would certainly love to see if that is true – and would appreciate the opportunity to find out. Thanks very much for considering me!

15 Cindi January 19, 2009 at 9:47 pm

Hi, I try to keep it simple! I try to use exfoliating and pore
minimizers at least twice a week. Being menopausal and 52 is causing me to rethink my skin regimen. I would love to try this serum. It sounds amazing. Many thanks…..Cindi

16 Dora January 19, 2009 at 10:12 pm

So, everyone always tells me that I have really nice skin. It’s so funny though, because I dont really do much with it. All I do is just scrub it after every shower, with a bar of soap. But yes, I do wear makeup everyday. Well, I try to, sometimes I run late, so no time. But I would definitely love to try this serum. I’ve never tried any products for my face at all. This would be something life-changing.

17 kathy Weber January 19, 2009 at 10:28 pm

to keep my skin nice and fresh I use an exfoliatin scrub with olive products everday. I wear very little makeup, just never really learned how, now that I’m (GASP) getting older, I’m trying to learn how, with some success, and some truly laughable failures. I would love to win this to assist me in keeping my skinfresh and clean as I learn, hopfully with more success!

18 Kristi January 19, 2009 at 11:29 pm

Wow, I would love to try this product if it helps to brighten your skin. Just last year I noticed this small light brown spot on my cheek that really bugs me. It’s not that noticeable to most people but I know it’s there and I see it. I guess from living in Florida all my life and when I was younger we would lay out in the sun and just fry. I mean we would even lay on those silver tinfoil mats that attracted the sun and if that wasn’t bad enough, we would slather baby oil all over I guess it is starting to catch up with me now. :(
As far as daily beauty routines, I don’t have a specific one down pat yet, that is actually what brought me to the beauty blogs is to learn what works best.

For cleansing my face, I use Noxzema and then I use an awesome night creme that I won from Perricone md. I really love this night creme, it feels great on my skin. This is my first time trying Perricone Products too. Have you girls ever used Perricone? Oh, and it doesn’t clog my pores or make me breakout. I also won their daytime moisturizer which is really great too. Before that I would use Olay Moisturizer, Total Effects plus blemish control. This product has the salicylic acid in it and it works great. I also use Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System which is great and leaves your skin feeling so smooth and soft.
My favorite lotion for my hands are the lotions from Crabtree & Evelyn and I also love their goat’s milk products.
I am using Biolage shampoo and conditioner for my hair.
For makeup – I am so lost. I don’t like my foundation that much and I really don’t know what to pick that would be good for me. I like coppery, corals, bronze and shimmers for my lips. I also would love to find a good look and colors for my eyes with the eyeshadow and eyeliner, etc. If anyone has any suggestions, I have medium skin tone and dark brown eyes and medium brown hair.

My perfume is Gwen Stefani Lamb which is ok but my favorite is Ralph Lauren Romance.

Have a nice evening girls! :)

19 Nancy J. January 19, 2009 at 11:40 pm

Clarisonic cleansing in AM followed with Oil of Olay moisturizer
Neostrat AHA 10 in PM followed with Oil of Olay moisturizer. My skin looks and feels good with this regime

20 BarbaraBaker January 20, 2009 at 12:17 am

I usually just wash with soap and water (I’m just poor folk…LOL). Seriously though, I just keep simple because I don’t have much choice in the matter.

I would however LOVE to be chosen the winner of this particular giveaway…

Thanks a ton!
-barbarabaker :)

21 Zoe Lee January 20, 2009 at 1:11 am

I keep my skin nice and clear by washing it daily..with water and a cleanser, and always moisturizing with spf, despite it being winter. I do not go tanning, nor do I put my face into the sun, protecting it from wrinkles.

Thanks for a fab contest, I would love to try this.

22 Kristen W January 20, 2009 at 11:09 am

I actually try not to wear makeup everyday in order to give my face a rest. I also use L’oreal skin generist cleansing cloths and the old standby Noxema alternately. I try to use an at-home facial mask weekly, also.

23 mj January 20, 2009 at 11:44 am

One of the best things I’ve done for my face is to have regular chiropractic adjustments! It sounds strange, but having my back in alignment reduces stress, which shows in my face. My husband has made more comments about my face after an adjustment than after any other treatment or makeover!

24 Leane January 20, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Morning and Night, I cleanse with facewash, use a spray on toner, and then moisturize, and apply an under-eye cream………I usually use Dermalogica products and I LUV them….but money is tight right now so I am starting to experiment with drug-store finds…….wish me lusck with that. This is a great giveaway. Quality products usually give you quality skin.

25 veedee January 20, 2009 at 1:29 pm

I use the Epionce skincare line, Kiehl’s sunscreen with Mexoryl and shamelessly use umbrellas when I’m outdoors!

26 lisa January 20, 2009 at 7:04 pm

I have good skin. I am selective with what i choose to put on my face and i am always in the market for the next great product. With that said i think the best thing for your skin is having a routine and sticking to it. Cleanse every night with a mild cleanser and wash cloth, this is followed by moisturizer. Thanks for the info on YBF.

27 janeh January 20, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Cleanse every night and morning with a gentle cleanser (I use Cetaphil and have for years)….follow up with a good night cream and a moisturizer with sunscreen for the daytime.

28 josi January 20, 2009 at 8:42 pm

I love YBF products……great results from great people. I love Defend…it’s the only thing that tames my oil-slick.

29 Natasha January 20, 2009 at 8:55 pm

I have tried every exfoliator under the sun and I seem to get the best results from a plain old aspirin mask. I make sure to drink tons of water and I use mineral foundation. My second favorite product is a brightening serum from believe it or not Sally’s beauty supply.

30 Angie P January 20, 2009 at 11:13 pm

Lately, I am using the Pond’s Exfoliating facial wipes and I use Olay Regenerist moisturizer. This serum looks incredible. I would love to try it.

31 Betsy January 21, 2009 at 10:45 am

I do wear make-up, but not daily. I just try to wash my face every day and use a moisturizer.

32 Michelle H. January 21, 2009 at 4:11 pm

At night, lately I have been removing my makeup with olive oil because my skin has been dry. It does a really good job on my eye makeup. I then wash with a gentle face wash (right now I am using Mary Kay) and use 2 to 3 moisturizers on my face, eyes, neck, and hands. In the morning, I use a gentle exfoliating wash and usually end up using 2 to 3 moisturizers because I also add a little moisturizer to my foundation. Everyone tells me that my skin glows and that I look young for my age and I am always trying to find the best products that work for me.

33 Heather January 21, 2009 at 7:15 pm

Yes, yes, YES! I wear make up daily, moisturize and cleanse morning and night and I am experimenting with anti-aging serums but I’m not convinced they make a difference…yet!

34 Laura January 22, 2009 at 7:57 am

One thing I notice as I get older is that when I eat right, drink lots of water, exercise and get enough sleep, my skin is much better. If only it was that easy to keep that up all the time!!!

I also have started to get microdermabrasion with a glycolic peel every few weeks or as often as I can afford – I notice a big difference.

Skin care products definitely help, and here are some of my favorites:

Cetaphil cleanser
Naturabisse diamond ice-lift DNA cryo mask
skinceuticals Phloretin CF serum
skinceuticals AGE interrupter cream
Creme de la Mer (for winter dry skin)
Decleor Aromessence baume essentiel (also great for winter)

I love reading these posts to get additional ideas!!! Thanks

35 angela sherman January 22, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Also, become best friends with sunscreen. The sun can do terrible damage to your face. Take care of your skin…because its with you for the rest of your life!

36 Rochelle K. January 22, 2009 at 7:44 pm

Thankfully I don’t have to do much. I get facials every once in a while, and microdermabrasions, but other than that I just moisturize in the dry spots and I’m good to go.

37 jenny January 23, 2009 at 1:25 am

I use a MD Formulation cleanser day and night. It exfoliates and brightens up my complexion.

38 Vicki Wurgler January 23, 2009 at 11:57 am

during the winter my skin gets real dry so I just do at-home masks and alot of moisturizers. Most days I wear mascara and lip loss

39 ann_was_here January 26, 2009 at 12:09 am

For me the key has been gentle soaps with no fragrance (the fragrance makes me sneezy and my skin sensitive). I currently use Boscia which I love! I also use toners to help keep my skin soft and hydrated. When I come home from work/school I use an Aveda shammy to clean off my foundation and eye makeup and then wash my face before I go to bed.

40 Tammy M January 31, 2009 at 10:34 am

I would say that the very best thing I can do to put my best face forward is to get rest! 8 hours of sleep, wash all makeup off my face before I go to bed and moisterize!
I firmly believe if you take care of yourself inside and put, you will project the best you always!

41 sher January 31, 2009 at 10:38 am

i wash with my murad. i use my aveeno with spf 15 daily. and mostly, i smile a lot :-)

42 Carolyn G January 31, 2009 at 12:15 pm

I exfoliate every other day using exfoliating soap. Then I use moisterizer and toner.

43 Michelle January 31, 2009 at 12:35 pm

I use Obagi and Retin A to help exfoliate and keep wrinkles at bay. =)

44 SerendipitouslySarah January 31, 2009 at 12:47 pm

My best face is always about keeping my oil under control since I feel terrible if my face feels like an oil slick! And it’s about doing whateer makes me feel pretty and good about myself, like the occasional pampering at home, or even just having my fiance tell me he loves me!

45 Luci Weston January 31, 2009 at 12:59 pm

I never go to sleep still wearing makeup…no matter how tired I might feel. It is better to do a quick face washing than not at all. Your skin needs to breathe!

46 joanna smith January 31, 2009 at 7:16 pm

The way I achieve and maintain my best face is to first and foremost have a consistent routine for cleansing and moisturizing my skin. I always take my makeup off completely at night and every morning I wash my face with a gentle exfoliating facial cleanser. I use a daytime moisturizer with an SPF of 15 and an eye cream and at night I use a more hydrating night cream and again my eye cream. I also feel in order to have beautiful, healthy looking skin you have to take care of yourself from within in order to make your skin glow and shine! I drink lots and lots of water, I eat a very healthy diet rich in vegetables and fruit, and I rarely drink alcohol and limit my coffee intake to 2 cups a day. I also try and get 6-7 hours of sleep, but with a 6 month old daughter that is one glitch in my routine that I can always control. The secret to achieving MY BEST FACE is something I want very badly, I am passionate about so I am willing to take the steps necessary to try and be the best that I can be and strive to always put my best foot forward. I am always open to trying new products because I find I have to tweek what I am using every couple of months because once I use something for a while it seems to not be as effective for me, like my skin is crying out for more! I am sure what I said is not unique, but sticking with the routine, the program so to speak, is what works best for me! Thank you for the opportunity to enter!

47 Regina S January 31, 2009 at 7:22 pm

I do weekly purifying masks and then exfoliate two times during the week

48 adrian January 31, 2009 at 7:53 pm

I never leave my house without a sunscreen. I like to pamper my skin with serums, lotions, & masks, but I find keeping out tof the sun the best way to preserve my skin.

49 Kimberly January 31, 2009 at 9:44 pm

I wash my face, & exfoliate like normal, the newest thing I’ve been using on my face is an at home Glycolic Acid peel, I use it once a week & my face is showing a huge difference. Also I use a heavy moisturizer suited for my skin daily.

50 Christi January 31, 2009 at 9:54 pm

I just started using the MD Skincare Alpha Beta Hydroxy Peel Pads, along with their Hydra Pure Antioxidant Firming Serum & Hydra Pure Vitamin C serum. It’s too soon to tell, but I think it’s going to clear up my misbehaving skin. Thanks for the chance to win this incredible sounding serum! I love your blog!

51 Hana January 31, 2009 at 9:55 pm

I’ve changed my skincare a lot over the years since the harsh products weren’t all that great at getting rid of my acne and dried my face out too. I wash my face twice a day with either Purity Made Simple or Cetaphil anti-bacterial bar, use a 2% benzoyl peroxide cream, and then either Olay Complete day lotion or Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel during the day, and Olay Regenerist night cream at night. I try to not wear makeup too often, and when I do I always wash it off at night. I use the Aqua Glycolic cleanser as a mask for half an hour every couple days. I use a manual exfoliant every once in awhile when I feel like I need it, but I just use a really gentle one. I try to drink plenty of water and take vitamins everyday, including omega acids.

Thanks for the contest!

52 Anna January 31, 2009 at 11:02 pm

I try to stick to natural and organic skin care products that are gentle on my skin. I actually discovered the Sophyto Organics line through your site! I try to wash, tone, and moisturize morning and evening. And I make sure to apply SPF if my make up doesn’t have any. I also love to use gentle exfoliating products every once in a while to get that smooth glow.

53 kathy February 1, 2009 at 12:43 am

I exfoliate my face 2-3 x a week with Bliss pore-perfecting polish. Wash my face with Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleanser daily. I use Boscia SPF 15 Moisturizer in the mornings & just started using Clinique Moisture surge at night. I don’t wear makeup on the weekdays to let my face breathe. Makeup only goes on at weekends unless I have somewhere to go on the weekdays. I believe that by not wearing makeup everyday really improves your skin because when I was a teen I would wear it everyday and my face broke out a lot. My face has definitely improved!

54 Kara February 2, 2009 at 10:57 am

I’m still trying to find my best face. Right now, I wash it every night with Clean & Clear Cream Deep Cleanser and follow up with Differin and Cetaphil moisturizer. In the mornings, I sometimes wash (if my face isn’t too dry) with Purpose Gentle Cleanser, then slather on Cetaphil Daily moisturizer with SPF 15. No makeup (only on special occasions). I also drink a LOT of water on a daily basis (it really helps!) I still struggle with dry skin and acne!
