Spring body care from Cactus and Ivy

It’s official… Happy Spring 2009!!

In honor of the upcoming warmer weather, and more of your skin coming out of hiding, I’m reviewing Cactus and Ivy’s BRAND NEW Spring Fever body care items.
Spring Fever body care from Cactus and Ivy

“Our Spring Fever line includes ingredients high in oleic and linoleic acids, and rich in essential fatty acids with a refreshing and vibrant aroma of fresh lemons, pink grapefruit and lime, kissed with a splash of spearmint. Spring Fever is sure to soften and delight your skin, all while captivating your senses.”

Cactus and Ivy is a new brand in my arsenal. I met the owner & founder, Lisa, through fellow Twitter friends and am so happy we were introduced. Not only are her products extremely fabulous, but she and I share so much in common!

If you’re looking to pamper your skin this spring and summer, these are the products for you. Yes, I confess to being a lotion nut. And after trying an embarrassing amount of brands, you find a few standouts. The Cactus and Ivy collection is just that.

For summer moisture, the Citrus Body Meringue is a-perfecto. Lightly moisturizing, non-greasy, and packed with Aloe juice and essential oils. The scent is fresh- especially during warmer weather. There’s a slight hint of lime, mint, citrus and herbals. I love the pump dispenser- it never leaks which means I can confidentially (and thankfully due to my addiction) tote this around in my purse!

I’ve really been into applying oils after my showers lately. They seem to last much longer, ensure that my skin keeps moisture locked in, plus they’re more economical (due to their ability for multi-use). Lemon Mint Body Bath and Massage Elixir is exceptional. Not only does the scent invigorate me, but the oil smooths out my skin (SO freaking soft!!) and it doesn’t leave me greasy or slippery! It’s also great on my nails, cuticles, and hands; and if you’ve got a smattering left on your hands, you can rub it into any dry ends on your hair or use it to tame flyaways. If you’ve got a boyfriend, hubby, or significant other, this crammed-with-essential-oils product makes for a perfect massage too.

In order to prep for peekaboo season, my skin typically needs a good scrubbing. This year, I used the Citrus Mint Acai Body Glow. This sugar scrub comes full of Acai berry flakes, almond oil, vitamin e, and jojoba. It’s like a skin care party in a jar. Seriously… I highly recommend this scrub. The aromatherapy experience in my shower was worth it alone. Couple that with the actual body exfoliation this scrub provided and I was a happy Bionic Beauty. I’m a pretty sensitive skinned-gal and this scrub was gentle enough for my entire body.

Prices are: Acai Body Glow scrub $27 for 18oz tub ($15 for 10oz); Body and Massage Elixir $18 for an 8oz spray bottle (or $9 for 4oz); and the Body Meringue is $15 for an 8 ounce pump (and $7.50 for 4 ounces).

Cactus & Ivy containers are all recyclable and the products are never tested on animals. Certified Cruelty Free and Vegan.

I honestly can not say enough nice things about these products. There aren’t enough adjectives in my vocabulary! Check out the Cactus & Ivy Spring Fever line, there’s also a full list of ingredients for each product on this page. I’d love to hear what you think of each of these products!
