Review: Cargo gives you a time out on lip gloss

by Bionic Beauty on 17.Sep.2009 · 5 comments

Cargo’s Classic lipgloss got a packaging upgrade. Ever wonder if your lipgloss has gone bad? Well, Cargo has tried to take out the guess work. When you open your new lipgloss, you pop this little card into the top and it starts counting down to 9 months. It’s called “TimeStrip Technology”. Apparently that’s how long lip gloss lasts in their opinion.

Bionic Beauty review - Cargo Classic lip gloss in Whistler

Do you know anyone who throws away a $20+ lip gloss after 9 months? I really don’t. I know my makeup case has about 30 glosses that are all between 2-3 years old. I do purge occasionally, and I certainly check for funky smells, separation or changes in color. And I never keep them longer than 3 years (and I pitch after a bad cold).

Silver Bullet makeup look

by Bionic Beauty on 04.Jun.2009 · 0 comments

Today I wanted a subdued makeup look and I had the hankering for a faux-tan. So out came my Cargo bronzer, and a handful of my samples from Priia Cosmetics.

This makeup look uses…

  • Priia’s Skin Complexion Enhancer in Angelic (I call this my Tinted Moisturizer of the mineral makeup world! This is a great way to look unmade up for low-key days. No clumps, no ultra-fake-matte finish, just soft dewey skin. There are 2 shades of Complexion Enhancers currently- $14 each for a HUGE jar or grab a sample.)
  • Cargo Water Resistant bronzer
  • Silver Bullet satin eyeshadow by Priia ($7.50 for a full size, or check her other colors and get several sample sizes!)
  • Pencil Me In eyeliner in Indigo
  • Me by Mezhgan tubing mascara (the Look at Me mascara)
  • Priia Lipcolor in Raspberry Smash

Cargo has plans for a new Tinted Moisturizer

by Bionic Beauty on 26.Jul.2008 · 6 comments

Cargo’s website shows they will be releasing a Tinted Moisturizer “soon”.

Here’s the description:

What features would make for the perfect Tinted Moisturizer? How about a paraben-free and oil-free formula loaded with added care nutrients and sun protection? A fabulous shade that provides radiant color? All packaged in a travel-friendly pouch? CARGO has listened to consumers’ pleas and created the ultimate Tinted Moisturizer. CARGO’s Tinted Moisturizer has SPF 20 and is formulated with matrixyl 3000, an anti-aging peptide that reduces surface wrinkles, and improves skin firmness; vitamin B, to promote healthy skin; vitamin C, to fight wrinkles, smooth fine lines, and provide additional protection from sun damage and vitamin E, a powerful anti-oxidant, to help the skin fight off environmental damage while providing moisture.

No word on the actual release date yet, but the SPF 20 sounds nice since it seems most Tinted Moisturizers only contain SPF 15. And the anti-aging properties are a super bonus!
