Silver Bullet makeup look

by Bionic Beauty on 04.Jun.2009

Today I wanted a subdued makeup look and I had the hankering for a faux-tan. So out came my Cargo bronzer, and a handful of my samples from Priia Cosmetics.

This makeup look uses…

  • Priia’s Skin Complexion Enhancer in Angelic (I call this my Tinted Moisturizer of the mineral makeup world! This is a great way to look unmade up for low-key days. No clumps, no ultra-fake-matte finish, just soft dewey skin. There are 2 shades of Complexion Enhancers currently- $14 each for a HUGE jar or grab a sample.)
  • Cargo Water Resistant bronzer
  • Silver Bullet satin eyeshadow by Priia ($7.50 for a full size, or check her other colors and get several sample sizes!)
  • Pencil Me In eyeliner in Indigo
  • Me by Mezhgan tubing mascara (the Look at Me mascara)
  • Priia Lipcolor in Raspberry Smash

Getting cheeky with Mezhgan

by Bionic Beauty on 09.Apr.2009 · 4 comments

If you’ve read my other reviews on Me by Mezhgan makeup products, you know the brand prides itself on multi-tasking products. And their Cheeky {me} blush compact does not disappoint.

Packed with 4 shades of cheek colors and a mirror that big enough to actually be useful (don’t you hate those teeny mirrors in some compacts???). In the center is a peach shimmer, similar to NARS’ infamous O blush. This is my favorite color out of the compact. So I guess that’s why my makeup bag is packed full of peachy-shimmery blushes.  This color is also great for highlighting your nose bridge, chin, and brow bones.

Around the outside is a flushy pink, great for that healthy, just exercised look; a bronzer, and a non-shimmery peach.

Just think of all the possibilities for cheek looks! Contouring, highlighting, bronzing… it’s all covered!

The Cheeky Me compact is available at for $45.

Flawless me with Mezhgan

Looking for a fabulous multi-taking compact for your makeup bag? The Flawless Me compact from Me by Mezhgan holds 2 shades of cream concealers, a nice big mirror, and a full pan of face powder! Perfect for traveling this summer. Throw it in, and you’re covered for the day.

  • The concealers are great! Not too goopy, not runny, and they don’t crease. I loved using mine around my eyes and nose. And there was no icky scent like some creams.
  • The powder is light, but buildable. I’d use the concealers and then swipe the powder across the rest of my face to even everything out.

All in all, the compact is a nice go-to for quick looks, traveling, touchups through your day, or regular daily use. Plus the packaging is just plain adorable!!!

The Flawless Me compact is available from the Me by Mezhgan website for $48. It’s available in Light, Medium, and Dark skintones.

Lining the perfect smoky eye with Mezhgan

by Bionic Beauty on 17.Mar.2009

I’ve shared some of my love of indie brand Me by Mezhgan before.. and now I’ve tried out their “define me eye liner” in ‘natural me’ (which is a matte brown. My love for this brand continues!
Bionic Beauty reviews Me by Mezhgan Define Me eye liner

What I love…

  • Built-in sharpener and smudge sponge tip! Need I say more? This is just simply handy.
  • The twist-up style pencil keeps me from smooshing my eyeliner by pushing the cap down too far. (Yes, I do that quite often… more poor, poor pencils.)
  • Nice and soft. This pencil doesn’t pull on my lid but it’s packed with color, and wears all day. Contact lens wearers and sensitive eye gals, this is a great liner for you!
  • Blendable! It’s easy to use just the eyeliner to create a smoky eye, or leave it as a clean line for a professional look. Very versatile!

What I’d like to improve on…

  • More colors. Right now there’s only brown and black. I’d love to see a green, blue, maroon, purple and something metallic for evening, maybe a gunmetal gray?

How to create a smokey eye with Mezhgan eyeliner

Here’s a smokey brown eye that I created using only this pencil.

  • Line your top and bottom lash lines and inner water line.
  • Use the smudge sponge to *very* lightly blend out the lines. A Bionic Hint: I like to move the sponge in slight U shaped semi-circles to blend. It seems to work much better than just going back n’ forth in a line.
  • Reline over top of the smoked line for definition.
  • Finish with a light coat of mascara. With eyes this dramatic and edgy, I like to keep the mascara light and natural. I used L’Oreal’s Bare Naturale mascara in Black.

Spring 2009: Lip color suggestions, part 1

by Bionic Beauty on 16.Feb.2009 · 11 comments

Spring is just around the corner and rather than post all the press releases about new collections being released, I thought we’d step outside the box and look at lip colors that are light, bright, and perfect for Spring 2009.

Spring 2009 lip color suggestions from Bionic Beauty

Clinique Long Last glosswear SPF 15 in Mystic. Cost: $14.00 at Clinique.comClinique long lasting lip gloss. Mystic is a super cool grape gloss with silver shimmer. It’s gorgeous on; my photo does not do this gloss justice! Great for spring if you want a darker lip look (like me) or tend to look washed out when wearing all the light pinks and corals.

L’Oreal Colour Juice lipstick in Mango Tango (not shown in the group photo- I forgot to include it, oops!). This is one of my long term favorite lipstick colors. It’s semi-sheer but with a nice shine and it feels light on the lips. Plus the fruity scent is nice too.
Mango Tango is a nude with rosy brown undertones. Similar to Bobbi Brown’s new (and limited edition) Rosy Brown (from the Bobbi Brights collection). You can find it at most drugstores or drugstore.comL'oreal Mango Tango lipstick for $9.50.

e.l.f. lipgloss in Flirt, $1 at e.l.f. Cosmeticself cosmetics. This color is a slightly lighter version of Clinique’s gloss in Clearly Pink. It’s a translucent bubble gum pink. Great on most anyone’s lips. It’s a fun novelty gloss & perfect at $1.
