Review: Sally Hansen’s PM Lip Plumper

Another random whim purchase- Sally Hansen’s PM Lip Plumper. It’s semi-affordable for around $10 at local drugstores. The packaging is pretty and spa-like: a baby blue tube with crisp silver-look screw on top.
The PM Lip Plumper instructs you to apply at night and you’ll wake up to fuller lips. Hmmmm… well, my lips were certainly more moisturized the next morning, but they weren’t really any plumper. I think if you have typically dry lips, this treatment will plump them up by adding moisture and helping you retain it. But if your lips are already on the moist side, you may not see much difference; but the good side is this product doesn’t have that awful burn of most plumpers. It feels just like a lotion and applies with a white-ish tinge to your lips. It does sink in rather quickly, impressive in that aspect.
For completeness, here are the ingredients:
Water, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Beeswax, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Behenate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Shea Butter - Butyrospermum Parkii, Allyl Methacrylates Crosspolymer, Retinol, Polysorbate 20, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tribehenin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Green Tea Extract - Camellia Sinensis, Soluble Collagen, Grape Seed Oil - Vitis Vinifera, Soybean Oil - Glycine Soja, Apricot Kernel Oil - Prunus Armeniaca, Aluminum Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Flavor, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate.
Walgreens.com offers the PM Lip Plumper for $9.99 for a tube, or pick one up at your local drugstore or mass market retailer (Target, Wal-mart).

Review: Sally Hansen Line Freeze for Lips

Sally Hansen’s Line Freeze for Lips was sampled here at Bionic. And now, here’s the product review!
The lip treatment is a nice thick balm, applies clear and leaves a nice matte finish. After a few hours, it does seem to dry your lips a bit. The product tastes much better than the Pur Minerals counterpart. However, the results seem about the same- not much payoff. You can find Line Freeze for Lips at CVS ($7.49) and Walgreens ($9.99) for a 0.2 oz pot.
I still contend that the best quick wrinkle reducer for lips is The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter. I notice a difference immediately! Plus the Coconut Lip Butter is a better bargain at only $6.00 for a 0.3 oz pot from The Body Shop.com.

Fall Nails- Easy Bionic Buy with "After Midnight"
As we all know, dark nails are HOT for fall and winter. Instead of spending more money on the OPI, Essie and Chanel brands, Bionic searched out a new Limited Edition Sally Hansen nail polish color. “After Midnight” is a fantastic dark navy blue, an almost exact duplicate of OPI’s “Midnight in Moscow”. And for only $4.99, you gotta love the price!
*Edit on 23 September: This polish is VERY long-wearing. My nails typically chip with 24 hours, now three days later I’ve yet to see a chip! Hooray!

Review: Sally Hansen’s Lip Inflation Gloss
Sally Hansen’s Lip Inflation plumping treatment is meant to remind us of the more famous name brands (such as Lip Venom and LipFusion).
The packaging looks similar to the big boys, however after a week of two tubes lying in a makeup case, they leaked everywhere. The “gold” finish on the handle began wearing off immediately. Not big complaints, but they are worth noting.
The tingling was not extreme, actually it was quite pleasant. Smooch partners did not have their lips lit on fire, either (which is always a bonus). Application is via a small brush (similar to a nail polish brush). The lip gloss is quite sticky, texture is overwhelmingly fluid, and the scent is fruity. Thankfully, the gloss did wear off quickly. Don’t waste your money on the “tinted” versions as they all apply clear.
The lip treatment did seem to plump up fine lines in lips a small amount, and the extreme shine took focus away from fine lines.
Sally Hansen Lip Inflation is available at Walgreens.com (for $5.99) or Duane-Reade (for $5.95).
Overall, Bionic felt this lip plumper fell limp.
