Regardless of how you’ll be celebrating (or not-celebrating) Valentine’s Day, women everywhere seem to go on the quest for the ultimate red lipstick.
To help you wade through the masses, I’ve come up with a Bionic Red Lipcolor Roundup that has a little something for everyone…
elf's Cherry Bomb lip gloss
For the budget-conscious, and just a twinge of redness- e.l.f. cosmetic’s $1 Candy Shop lip gloss in Cherry Bomb.
L'Oreal Colour Juice lip stick in Cherry Freeze
Love haunting the drugstore beauty aisles? L’Oreal Colour Juice Stick in Cherry Freeze is a cool-toned red that can go on super sheer, or be layered for a much deeper red.
New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak returns with her final book for 2010 and it’s as hot as its name. Plus there’s a fun promotion for those of us who are beauty, and book, addicts!
Simply buy Brenda’s new book, Killer Heat between September 28th and October 5th (2010) and mail Brenda the receipt to receive a FREE Three Custom Color lip gloss in the gorgeous red shade oh-so-appropriately named “Killer Heat”! So that’s a free new lipgloss (valued at $21.50).
If you haven’t tried Three Custom’s lip glosses yet, you may just end up as addicted as I am. My fave lip colors are all by them – the sheer black Noir (which I wear constantly), Whisper (a classic peach that works for everyone, I promise!), Be Bright Pink (a shimmery pink seems to make my face glow), and then there’s Doubles (I never, ever leave home without this lipgloss) and the whole L Word series. Yes, I’m addicted… and no, I’m not getting any kickbacks from 3CC.
Brenda Novak’s books are available wherever books are sold or log onto BrendaNovak.com for more details!
I’ll have my swatch and review of the new Killer Heat lipgloss up next week, so stay tuned. In the meantime, if you buy the book, we can compare notes on the story!
*Offer good only while supplies last – no exceptions on proof of book purchase dates.
Breaking news! Some very special sales, from some of my favorite makeup and cosmetics companies!
I haven’t had a chance to review Get Fresh’s amazing body care products on Bionic Beauty yet, but I have their Paris body lotion, Relief for Tattered Tootsies foot care pack, and their Look Better Naked body care pack (which contains the Mineral Body Mask in Grapefruit, pictured below… it’s sooooo soothing on my skin!). It’s rare that a body care product makes me swoon, but I’m in love!
Mineral body mask from Get Fresh - one of their many Mother's Day sale items!
So if you want to join in my Get Fresh love fest- from now through May 10th shop for your mom (or yourself!) and enter code MOTHER2010 to get special discounts on their Luxury Luxury Bubble Baths, Diffusers, Scrubs, Masks and Body Butters.
Get Fresh is a family-run company with adorable packaging; customer service that is above and beyond (which let’s face it… is a rare thing these days.); and products that are not only fun, but perform! I’m currently longing for their cute totes and cosmetics bags so I can travel in fashion!
I know black lipstick isn’t for everyone, but if you are interested in trying out the trend… here are some tips and looks to play around with. And you don’t have to be a Film Noir star or a goth chick to pull them off!
Face – Purely Cosmetics mineral makeup in California Blonde mixed with PRIIA Cosmetic’s Complexion Enhancer in Angelic (basically my normal makeup). Topped with Purely Cosmetics’ Diamond Perfect Finish powder (I love, love, love this product!).
Cheeks – Light rose pink blush (Koh Gen Do in Coral Pink) topped with silver dust GlitterAll in Snow by Shiny Mama.
Lids – Silver eyeliner by PencilMeInCosmetics.com, smudged out a bit, topped with Clinique’s Long Last lipgloss in Clearly Pink.
Lashes – Clinique’s new High Lengths mascara in black on top lashes (Full review soon, but in short it’s okay. Not as wonderful as Blinc, but average), silver/black glitter mascara (found on clearance at my local Sally Beauty store!) on bottom lashes.
And now, onto the makeup looks!
Trying out the Black Lip trend in real life!
The Full-On Drama Lips – Prescriptives Longwear Kohl eyeliner in black (but any longwear or waterproof black eyeliner would work fine!), Purely Cosmetics’ Diamond powder dabbed on very lightly to set the liner. Topped with Lancome’s Piha Black lipgloss (here’s a link to my previous article with loads of tips and looks using Piha Black lipgloss).
This is for all the current Three Custom Color makeup fans that are out there… or for any of you that have listened to me ramble about how much I adore their lipsticks, glosses and cream blushes…
Three Custom Color will be featured on HauteLook.com on
March 24, 2010 NOW! It actually just launched… sorry for the late notice, the schedule got changed at the last minute! The sale will be live for the next 48 hours.
What does all this mean for us, specifically?
Well, it means you’re going to be able to score some incredible makeup savings (some products are up to a 50% discount!).
HauteLook itself is a “luxury brand” discount sale website. Basically they feature different items daily at really deep discounts. Like going to your local Ross, Marshalls, or TJMaxx; but online. You do have to register, but it’s free. And you can “unregister” at any time.
Happy shopping, ladies! It’s time to grab some great makeup!
