Achieve Powerful Beauty with Bionic Beauty™
Happy Friday!!!! I came across a few quotes this week that seemed super appropriate for sharing with my fellow Bionic Beauties.

Three of these quotes I discovered via the ‘net. The fourth (and my personal favorite) is pulled from…. “the increasingly misnamed trilogy of five books” (have you guessed it yet?)… The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe series! I’m almost ashamed to admit that I have not read these books until now, but not really ashamed since I am rectifying that oversight. And rather quickly. I’m on book three now – Life, the Universe and Everything – and it’s awesome!

“I find beauty in unusual things, like hanging your head out the window or sitting on a fire escape.”

~ Scarlett Johansson, from Seventeen Magazine, May 2007

“Sculptors, poets, painters, musicians – they’re the traditional purveyors of Beauty. But it can easily be created by a gardner, a farmer, a plumber, a careworker.”

~ Charles De Lint, from The Onion Girl

“It’s important for all types of women to know that you don’t have to fit a prototype of what one person thinks is beautiful in order to be beautiful, or feel beautiful. People think: sexy, big breasts, curvy body, no cellulite. It’s not that. Take the girl at the beach with the cellulite legs, wearing her bathing suit the way she likes it, walking with a certain air, comfortable with herself. That woman is sexy. Then you see the perfect girl, who’s really thin, tugging at her bathing suit, wondering how her hair looks. That’s not sexy.”

~ Jennifer Lopez, from Reader’s Digest, August 2003

Quote by Douglas Adams from The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Nice quotes, right? Please share your favorite beauty, book, or whatever quotes below!

As most of you know, Annette Funicello passed away earlier this week. As a young girl, I watched Annette on Mickey Mouse Club reruns and in the always-fun Beach Blanket Bingo movie. Even though I was still in the single age digits, Annette’s grace and presence struck me. I grew to respect her poise even more when I learned of her battle with MS.

Annette Funicello was a true Powerful Beauty ~ inside and out.

Powerful Beauty desktop wallpapers by Bionic-Beauty.com
Longing for spring? Me too. So in honor of the upcoming season, I whipped up a few minimal-style desktop wallpapers. Not only is each background sporting the Pantone Spring 2013 colors; but they subtly remind you to get out there and “Achieve Powerful Beauty!”.

Your wallpaper color choices are: Dusk Blue, Linen, Nectarine, Tender Shoots, Monaco Blue, Poppy Red, Grayed Jade, Lemon Zest, Emerald (*Quick note: Emerald was named the 2013 Color of the Year by Pantone!), and African Violet.

To download: Simply click on the wallpaper color you’d like above.  Then right click, and choose “Save As”, then save the .png image to your computer.  Download as many as you’d like.  Easy as pie!

Each wallpaper is sized at 2880×1800 pixels which should scale to work on most laptops, desktop computers, even most tablets and smart phones.

Keep life colorful,
Jami - author and editor of the Bionic Beauty blog

Distribution: All the wallpapers are free to use. Just please don’t try to sell them, or post them on other websites without asking me first. Thanks!

Powerful Beauty: Kickin butt with ALIAS

Achieve Powerful Beauty with Bionic Beauty™
Prepare for your weekly powerful beauty fix in…
three…
two…
one…

As many of my loyal readers (hi there!) and Twitter fans (howdy!) know, I am a HUGE Alias fan. I have the books, a T-shirt, the limited edition Rambaldi DVD box set. I played the alternate reality game. I kept track of all the 47 mentions; and obsessively jotted down the highlighted letters in every episode.

I even made one of my very first websites about it – the website design is pretty embarrassing now, so I will spare your eyes the pain. Oh and I still quote the show in daily life.

Anyhow, you get the picture. Me equals Alias fangirl.

Why? Because when life gets tough for me, I can always channel Sydney Bristow’s strength.

In case you missed Alias when it aired from 2001-2006, here is one of my favorite fan compilations on YouTube. The song is perfect, the fight scenes are awesome, and you gotta love a woman who can look awesome in any color hair!

From the eye to the hand,

here is incredible power in being loved unconditionally. Love allows us to see ourselves as the beautiful creatures we are, and if we are open to the lesson, it will teach us what we are truly made of. I learned that from my former fiancé Todd, who knew that at forty-something I had plenty of internal and external flaws, and chose to focus instead on what he found beautiful in me.
