When I named Bionic Beauty, I never imagined there would be actual “bionic” makeup!  Women have applied makeup in a similar fashion for hundreds of years using brushes, fingers, sponges, cotton, and natural fibers.  Since 1930 women have had the option of permanent makeup – a tattoo that is applied to your face, eyes, or lips – but the process never grabbed mainstream attention until the 1980s.  The drawback of tattoo makeup is the lack of changeability.

Makeup needs a game-changer!  Turns out, it is here. Now.
Pax Color Change Cosmetic Implants - color changing permanent makeup

Blue Sun Research Group has developed Pax Cosmetic Implants. My best friend and research director at Blue Sun Research Group, Dr. Kate Jones, sent me an overview of their new permanent makeup cosmetic implants.

Pax implants are placed under the facial dermis during a quick, outpatient procedure and allow a woman to alter makeup colors on her cheeks, eyelids, and lips through a wireless interface. Basically you can change your makeup look from smokey eye with a nude lip to old Hollywood glamor in just a few minutes!

Pax, short for G-23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate, uses micro-dermal transduction of bio-luminescent liquid crystals to produce color visible on the skin’s surface. Currently there are 147 doctors in the United States authorized to perform Pax Cosmetic Implants; but the amount of doctors performing the procedure should be widespread by the middle of May.

To top it all off, this summer you’ll be able to change color on-the-go, with the Pax smart phone apps!

Will you be visiting your doctor to get the new Pax Cosmetic Implants?  And how often do you think you’d change your makeup through the day?

And after this leap forward, what’s next in the world of makeup?

Stay bionic y’all,

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Bionic Beauties!
I hope you’re having a truly splendid day. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, just be happy.
Happy Valentine's Day from Bionic Beauty!
Way back in my high school days, I was the teen girl who never had the armfuls of carnations nor more balloons than the movie UP! – so I developed a simple mantra. I’ve amended it a tad over the years, mostly to reflect my mature knowledge of my depth of love for brownies…

Just say NO to tulle, crappy design, doilies, and suddenly becoming angry if there’s not enough roses in your bouquet or karats in your ring. Simply say YES: smile, mail a note, bake brownies, celebrate “Likes” & “Loves”, and… enjoy Valentine’s Day!

What’s your favorite part of Valentine’s Day? Do you have any special ways to celebrate with your friends, family, or loved ones? Leave a comment below or send me note on Twitter @BionicBeauty!

Now I’m off to go bake those brownies!
Hugs, happiness, & chocolates,

P.S. Need a last minute Valentine for a friend, crush, co-worker, more-than-just-pals pal, lover? Or how about an e-card to send to text, email, or tweet? I stayed up all night working on these little guys, so I’d be thrilled if y’all put them to good use! Grab the whole collection at

Beauty Tips for Getting Rid of Stress

by Bionic Beauty on 18.Jul.2014 · 0 comments

No matter what your occupation is, stress is all relative. Whether you are working a 9-5 office job, chasing after children or frantically researching for an essay, you need a break from the grind once in a while. It doesn’t have to break the bank either, although a teeny bit of budget set aside for your stress-busting needs can go a long way.

First things first, get down to Holland & Barrett to grab a pot of coconut oil. The stuff is quite frankly magical and can be applied and even cooked with to reap a multitude of health benefits. Use it as a post shower, overnight hair mask to eliminate damage, upsetting dandruff and fatigued looking tresses. It is a safe ingredient over drugstore lotions and potions for combating dry or flaky skin, and acts as an anti-aging agent. Using it in cooking helps brighten the skin and eyes, speeds up your metabolism and even boosts your immune system! That means less prominent dark circles, less spots and generally feeling good!

A one off massage is a great way to get to ward off stress from your week. However don’t be fooled… massage is more than self-indulgence. A good massage will relieve tension held in your body, reducing the regularity of any recurring pain or injuries. It improves your skin tone and heightens your cognitive awareness and activity. Your temperament will feel lighter, and challenging tasks can become clearer. If you’re sitting at a desk hunched over a computer all day, a massage is a worthy investment, as staying in this position all day every day can have catastrophic effects on your back and shoulders. Set an alarm to go off every half an hour and just take a couple of minutes to stand up, walk around and have a stretch, as this will lessen the effects of a static desk job. When you’re at home, take ten minutes before you go to bed to do some simple stretches, as this will not only help you fall asleep more quickly but it will give your body a foundation for overnight healing!

A more budget sensitive option is to raid your kitchen cupboards for budget beauty essentials. One option is a sea salt bath to polish all the dirt, dead skin and stress away, followed by a good night’s sleep. It cannot be stressed more how important getting enough sleep is, as this is when your body does all of the patching up you need to get through the next tumultuous day. If you’re struggling through on 5 hours a night, you are impeding any health benefits sleep gives you. You’ll look tired, haggard and concentration for long periods of time will be a thing of the past. After a solid 7 hours minimum and a nice hot shower, place some cooled tea bags on your eyes for extra relaxation and to reduce puffiness. Eat a protein rich breakfast, as this will give you long-lasting energy, thus banishing stress due to sleepiness.

It’s worth looking after yourself no matter what your budget is, you’ve only got one set of body and mind, so take good care of it. Sleep well, eliminate processed foods during the week, drink plenty of water and set aside time for yourself. It’s important to find a balance. Don’t make yourself miserable with a brutal regime of dieting and exercising, but find a little time for it in amongst seeing friends, work and hobbies. After all, everything in moderation!

For those unaware, Alvi Armani is one of the biggest names in the surgical hair restoration scene. Founded in ’99, Alvi Armani has been responsible for restoring hair of thousands of patients.

History of Alvi Armani
As mentioned before, Alvi Armani clinic was established by the Doctor of Italian descent Dr. Antonio Alvi Armani in 1999 in Toronto, Canada. The clinic you see in India, Mideast and Argentina is a part of same chain. Alvi Armani started with FIT (Follicular Isolation Technique) procedure but ever since the procedure became outdated, Dr. Armani quickly realized it and switched to the better surgical procedure, FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction).

Not only did Dr. Alvi Armani make the wise decision of switching to FUE, he also excelled in it doing extensive research in the same field, coming up with better techniques and eventually coining Vitruvian Design Method for FUE. Some of Alvi Armani’s services have been individually reviewed in brief below.

FIT or FUSS Procedure
This service was instrumental in making Dr. Armani and his associates popular. Ironically, this service is not very common today due to the newer FUE procedure. The procedure involved Dr. Armani taking out a hair strip from, and scalp transplanting it, over the balding area – known as recipient site.

FUE Procedure
When FIT became obsolete, Alvi Armani started focusing on FUE, which used individual follicles rather than a strip. This procedure took Alvi Armani to new heights, even after Dr. Armani’s retirement, as it is safer and more effective. It was only after the success of FUE that Alvi Armani started eyeing other potential markets including India, Middle East and South America.

The popularity of Dr. Armani as a surgeon was far-reaching and it wasn’t long before celebrities from Hollywood turned towards Alvi Armani, Beverly Hills.

Fame of Alvi Armani
Impressed by the results of Hollywood celebrities, Bollywood actors turned their attention towards Alvi Armani as well. The fame, coupled with Dr. Armani’s physical condition which forced him to resign, also opened a door of opportunity for Alvi Armani to open up clinics in major parts of the world, including India and Argentina. Alvi Armani Beverly Hills is still the leading Alvi Armani clinic, which is under supervision of Dr. Baubac Hayatdavoudi, an award winning surgeon from University of California. Visit Dr. Baubac Hayatdavoudi’s blog to learn more about him.

Alvi Armani India
Alvi Armani India run by Dr. Arihant Surana is also a part of Alvi Armani Network and is a recent addition to Alvi Armani clinics. This clinic came into existence because of various reasons:

Firstly, hair restoration was considered costly and only wealthy Indians, including celebrities, were able to bear the cost of FUE in United States and Canada. Secondly, Dr. Arihant Surana’s feelings for Indians and the fact that he is also an Alvi Armani trained professional provided the perfect foundation to open up a clinic in India. Finally, Medical tourism is getting popular across the globe. People are looking for inexpensive countries with advanced medical facilities and qualified faculty and India is right there at the top of the list. Visit Dr. Arihant Surana’s website to learn more about him.

Alvi Armani Argentina
Led by Dr. Juan Manuel Rodriguez Jáuregui, Alvi Armani Argentina has been leading the Argentina market with Dr. Armani’s exclusive FUE procedure. Dr. Jáuregui specializes in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery from the University of Buenos Aires.

His passion for hair care, past record of successful patients and training from Dr. Armani make him the best candidate to represent AlviArmani in Argentina.

Alvi Armani Today
Today, Alvi Armani is known around every corner of the world. Many Hollywood and other celebrities, including star Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, have added to the success story of Alvi Armani.

Indian and Argentinean celebrities seeking hair transplantation can get operated without traveling to the United States. The best thing to happen for India and Argentina with Alvi Armani is that any celebrity or regular person suffering from hair loss can easily afford a quality hair transplant. Visit Dr. Alvi Armani’s site to explore more about Alvi Armani.
