Couture Lipglosses

Kissable Couture is apparently the *hot* new IT lip gloss. Released by celebrity makeup artist AJ Crimson and his partner, Keisha Whitaker, the new line of lip glosses are designed to make us remember our First Kiss (hence the collections’ name: First Kiss). The colors are gorgeous! For looking on their site, I love the look of “Forest“. However, I’m not sure I would shell out 22 bucks for a lip gloss. Would you?

I did however enter Loose Lips giveaway for a chance to win a set of the trendy glosses. Enter at the Loose Lips website!

Review: Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Regenerating Serum

Garnier Nutritioniste Serum

Bionic sampled Garnier Nutritioniste’s new line of Skin care, specifically the Skin Renew Daily Regenerating Serum. The serum is billed to brighten dull skin, alleviate fine lines, and even up your skin tone.

Garnier’s facial serum smells wonderful!! Not medicinal, chemical or too flowery, it’s a just perfect blend of fruit and fresh. The scent diminishes quickly once applied.

Application is smooth and easy. A little pea-size of product is easily spread across your entire face. I applied every evening for two weeks and my skin did seem much smoother, softer and firmer. I also noticed that my skin had a nice “glow” to it after about a week.

In summary, I’d certainly recommend purchasing this product. If you’re hesitant, sample first or ask your local drugstore if they have a sample you could try. This serum has achieved second place behind my Boots Restore and Renew serum and this is simply based on value for me. The Boots product is a teensy bit more affordable on price per ounce.

Worth mentioning is the container. The serum is packaged nicely is a fresh green pump, which I love since it’s sanitary and keeps the product fresh.

You can buy Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Daily Regenerating Serum at Drugstore.com for $11.99 for a 1.7 oz pump.

Review: L’Oreal Skin Genesis Serum Concentrate

L'Oreal Skin Genesis Serum

Product review for L’Oreal’s Skin Genesis facial Serum Concentrate. Bionic requested a sample back in August and I’ve been using the product each night for two weeks. The product recently won Allure Magazine’s Best of Beauty Awards for Breakthrough in Skin Care.

Skin Genesis has a light scent, not flowery or medicinal and should not bother most people. The serum is watery in texture (much more so than Garnier’s Nutritioniste) but applies smoothly and spreads easily. A little goes a long way making this product a cost-efficient purchase. The serum soaks into your skin exceptionally well!

Must say, I LOVE the packaging on this line. Very simple, clean, and with a spa-like feel. Excellent for a drugstore brand.

As for ingredients- the active ingredient is Pro-Xylane that is said to strengthen skin cells. However, if you have skin that is sensitive to breakouts, this product may not be for you. Glycerin is the second ingredient in the Serum Concentrate and a known culprit for cloggin’ your pores. The third ingredient is Alcohol which may not help those of us with dry skin (whether year-round or just the winter). If either of these two categories fit your skin, I would strongly suggest trying a sample first.

L’Oreal Skin Genesis Daily Treatment, Serum Concentrate can be found at Drugstore.com for $24.99. The product is sold in a 1.7 fl oz/50 ml pump.

Bionic’s Smoky Eye Tutorial

The infamous makeup question of ladies… “How do I create a Smoky Eye???” Never fear, Bionic is to your rescue. Read on for a quick and easy method for a truly wearable Smoky Eye!

First off, here are the products used:
Makeup for creating a smokey eye
Products:
Smashbox shadow in Smashing Strike
Jane duo’s shadow in 07 Browny Points / Hazelnut
Milani shadow in Storm (Bionic’s review)
Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear mascara in Blackest Black
Brushes by Sonia Kashuk

Apply the Smashbox in Smashing Strike across your ENTIRE lid, crease, and up to brow. This light taupe color works as a base and neutralizes your eye’s lid color.

Then lightly sweep the Jane shadow in Browny Points across your crease (follow the arch of your eyeball).

Use the lightest shimmer color (Hazelnut) from the Jane Duo to highlight under your brow and the very inside corner of your eye (by your nose).
This photo shows where we are now:
Eyeshadow has been applied

Now take the Milani shadow in Storm (lightly shimmered dark dark charcoal) and line your upper lashes. Blend the line all the way up to your crease. Blend, blend, and blend baby!

Apply a line of the Storm shadow below your lower lashes (if you use a short stubby shadow brush as pictured this should be very easy).

Finally, line your upper lash line *again* with the Storm shadow for emphasis.

Apply your favorite mascara and you are done!

If you’d like a more dramatic look, use liquid liner for the final lining on the upper lash line.

Skin MD Natural, Rock Dissolving Acid, and Freebies, Oh My!

Skin MD Natural has performed a demonstration video showing their protective Shield Lotion in the works. It’s quite dramatic actually. The guy, wearing the lotion on his hands, pours Muriatic Acid (used in swimming pools) over rocks in his hand and the Shield Lotion protects him from burns and dryness. It’s got me convinced enough to try their…. FREE SAMPLES! ($2.00 shipping and handling is yours to cover though.)
Bionic will report back with a full review once the samples have been evaluated. Oh, and a nice bonus? The Skin MD Natural products are affordable (a 1-2 month supply is $25), natural (water, aloe vera, etc), and are cruelty-free!!

Watch this video, tell me if I’m the only one who is amazed!

Goodyear lashes for you?

NewTire Industries in Canada is setting up a plant that will grind used tires into a fine-grade powder. Among other things, the powder is used as an ingredient in mascaras. NewTire will be exporting most of it’s tire powder overseas.
Helping the Earth by wearing Goodyear on our lashes?
Sure, as long as it comes in black.
