Summer 2010

Looking for the best way to get your winterized feet ready for their spot in the sun?

Here is my winning combo-
Moisturizing alone isn’t enough if you have calluses, rough patches, or thick skin. You need to slough off those old skin cells first, before you can start moisturizing to soften your feet.

Bionic Beauty's pedicure essentials - nail polish, top coat, Get Fresh foot care pack

My favorite Summer 2010 foot care items!

I still swear by my PedEgg but this summer, I’ve got a new must-have pedicure item! Get Fresh’s Relief for Tattered Tootsies care pack ($23 at GetFresh.net). It’s everything you need in one adorable bag and perfect for chucking in your suitcase for vacation! Get Fresh’s products are new to me, but they’re already on my list for Bionic’s Best of Beauty for 2010. The foot care packs come with:

  • A pumice stone
  • “Totally Soaked” – a moisturizing and sloughing gel
  • “Down’n Dirty” – an exfoliating and buffing scrub that makes dead, tough skin simply roll off!
  • “Rescue Me” – deep moisturizing repair cream.
  • And of course, the aforementioned cute bag!

Best of all, Get Fresh’s kit is affordable, quick, and easy to use. You’ll see results immediately!

Ahhh… the famous Pucci fabrics and designs. Colorful graphics, black lines, and a feeling of luxury and life. That’s what I feel when I see his work… of course, you might think something entirely different. And that’s part of the joy of art!
So why am I going on about Pucci and art on Bionic Beauty? Emilio Pucci has a new limited edition fragrance: Vivara Turquoise. It’s fresh, clean, and modern; without being over-powering.

Bionic Tip: Making neon nail polish pop!

by Bionic Beauty on 04.May.2010 · 3 comments

Beauty, makeup and skincare tips from the Bionic Beauty blog

Neon nail polishes are a HUGE trend for this spring and summer – just check out Milani’s new drugstore versions! OPI, China Glaze and Sinful Colors have also released bright, 80s inspired colors.

While some of them are opaque, others tend to be a bit on the translucent side. To get the brightest result from your neons, start with a coat of plain white polish underneath your neon polish.

The white acts as a primer to even the base color of your nail bed and really makes the neon color pop!

The Beauty Ideal magazine

Update: As of late 2009, The Beauty Ideal is no longer published online. However, I have archived my articles and contributions here on Bionic Beauty to continue to share them with my readers. Instead, be sure to check out all my previous Summer 2009 and Summer 2010 articles for fabulous ways to stay beautiful in the heat!

The June issue of The Beauty Ideal is now online. This month’s issue (released by The Beauty Blog Network) covers everything summer- from travel sized items, heat-friendly makeup tips, and ideas to embrace beachy hair. If you’re traveling this summer, this is the issue to check out!

Plus, The Beauty Ideal is eco-friendly. It’s always online and doesn’t harvest trees for printed issues. Yet another way to feel beautiful.
