Bionic Style: The Zann Clip

by Bionic Beauty on 26.May.2009 · 5 comments

Bionic Beauties have many sides… and beauties also have days where hair does not cooperate. In steps the Zann Clip. Zann Clips are nifty twists of wire that stay put. Mine don’t wander, slip, slide, pull, tangle or otherwise beat up my hair (which is a good thing, right??).

Here’s me and my multi-colored hair with a small Zann Clip in gold.
Zann Clip hair barrette product review by Bionic Beauty

In this photo, my sister and I were off for a day of fun at the beach. With the beach breezes, I hate having my hair whip around my face- so wearing the Zann was a no brainer. It’s also handy when working in the yard, bad hair days, under hats, and while working out (the Zann doesn’t even slip while running!).

Since my hair is short, I usually wear mine as shown above (partial pull back) or as a pony tail holder. But ladies with longer hair can use then vertically, on the side, or a slew of other ways.

Zann Clips come in small (2 1/2 inch), medium (3 1/8 inch) and large (3 and 3/4 inch) sizes, plus you can get color coated (in almost every color) or 24K gold plated or platinum plated. In my photo, I’m wearing a gold small Zann Clip. The smalls work best for my fine and chin length hair. I gave my sister a medium and a large since her hair is longer and thicker than mine.

Zann Clips are available online and range in price from $10-13 (for the color coated variety) to $21-23 (for the gold or platinum variety). A Bionic Buy!

Product Review: Depuff with Eye Slices

by Bionic Beauty on 12.May.2009 · 3 comments

Mmm… the feel of chamomile tea bags on your eye lids. If you haven’t tried it, it’s truly relaxing. Granted, silly looking, but relaxing nonetheless.

Eye Slices has developed the next-gen eye treatment for us tea bag fans. Eye Slices are little gel packs of depuffing goodness. They help reduce swelling, redness and irritation; as well as helping with fine lines (by increasing moisture retention) and helping clear dark circles. Lovely, right?

Bionic tests the Venus Embrace razor

by Bionic Beauty on 04.Apr.2009

I confess, I’m a long-time Venus razor user. My normal razor is a brilliant pink Venus Vibrance razor. It holds 2 AA batteries and would vibrate a bit while shaving to help exfoliate as you shaved. While I’m not sure it actually helped exfoliate my legs, the nifty gadget-ness appealed to me.

Venus now has Embrace. The razor head holds 5 tightly packed blades surrounded by 2 protective strips and a full-circle of moisturizing strips. While the razor head itself is quite huge, I still managed to shave detailed areas (like close to ankles) without nicks and scraps. Plus the moisturizing strips really did make for a smooth, burn-free shave.

I liked the gummy handle- it made for a nice grip in the shower. However, after using my Vibrance for the past two years, the Embrace felt amazingly light. That really took some adjusting. I almost threw it around at first.

The main thing I love about my Venus razors, is the ability to put whichever head I choose on them. They are fully interchangeable. So my Vibrance can use the Embrace’s razor heads and vice versa. Basically, I pick up whatever they have on sale at Sam’s or Costco. (Hint: You can also use any of the guy’s versions for Gilette razors too!)

The Venus Embrace is $12.99 at Drugstore.comBionic Beauty product review: Venus Embrace razor. Razor refills are $18.18 for a 4 packGilette Venus razor refills.

My Pampered Toes thank me

by Bionic Beauty on 02.Apr.2009 · 6 comments

From the makers of my fave PedEgg comes Pampered Toes. This beauty gadget works on the same principle as yoga-sandals by separating and stretching your toes to release tension in your feet.

Bionic Beauty reviews Pampered Toes by PedEgg

After a long day in closed toe shoes, sneakers or (eek) heels, our feet all need a break. I’d come home and wedge my Pampered Toes between my… well, toes. And relax while I blogged.

The gel felt good as I’d wiggle my toes against it creating my own little cheapy-massage. I tend to get incredibly bad foot cramps in my toes and arches and these little gadgets have been a wonderous addition to my evening relaxation routine. Plus they do double duty as pedicure toe-separators! In my mind, the PedEgg geniuses have done it again!

Check out PamperedToes.com to get your own relaxation toe setup for 10 bucks.

P.S. If you have a medical condition such as diabetes, please check with your doctor before use. I’m not a doctor, so I can’t recommend or not whether you should use Pampered Toes.
