L’Oreal Skin Genesis Freebie!

Free sample of Loreal skin genesisWalmart.com is offering a free sample of L’Oreal Skin Genesis. Hurry, supplies are limited. This sample promotion is not available in stores and is only open to the USA (sorry, international readers!).

Here’s a little background on the Skin Genesis line:

Formulated to work together or alone, every Skin Genesis product penetrates deep within skin’s surface to give you tighter, brighter, younger-looking skin. When combined, the Serum Concentrate and SPF 15 Lotion deliver the strongest results. In just 8 weeks, proven results show a significant improvement in skin’s appearance:
81% of women saw younger-looking skin
65% of women felt their skin appeared younger
60% of women saw brighter, more luminous skin

I’m not making any guarantees on the claims listed above, but I can say it worked relatively well for me. Sensitive skin types should be careful with these products though. I would recommend getting a sample before buying an entire bottle. I experienced a bit of a breakout and other Bionic Beauty readers have reported burning, redness, breakouts and itchiness. Read Bionic Beauty’s review of L’Oreal Skin Genesis.

Stay tuned for three Friday Freebies, including two for international readers!

A Best Kept “Malibu Secret” in Body Care?

From JoyceyCouture, guest blogger on Bionic Beauty:

I am a creature of habit and when I like something, I stick with it (especially when it smells like yummy coconut). So when Bionic Beauty asked me to test out Malibu Secret, I hesitated, yet finally agreed.

I’d rather opt for my trademark Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada Moisturizer any day than venture onto something new and… floral scented. You see, I am a Florida girl at heart. I thrive on fruity, tropical scents like cocoa butter and coconut.
Malibu Secret body care lotion

After several sleepless nights, and nightmares of the Lubriderm alligators under my bed, I pushed my Hawaiian Tropic staple to the back of the cabinet (out of sight, out of mind- right?) and flipped open the Malibu Secret cap.

Promptly thereafter, closing it due to floral scent overload; jasmine, old rose, and gardenia.. oh my!

I jump online to revisit the website MalibuSecret.com, needing a refresher on why I’m trying out this product again.
The “secret” ingredient is the breakthrough THYMULEN 4™. A highly purified, biomimetic peptide that stimulates the skin’s immune defenses and regenerates the epidermal profile while helping the skin regain its youthful appearance.

In a world of 904 diet pills that hit the market daily, promising a 25 pound weight loss in a day, I decide to continue reading.

The lotion is formulated with shea, cocoa, and macadamia butters, green tea, aloe vera, phospholipids, soy, sodium hyaluronate and brown algae.
Brown algae?!

After I shower and relax a bit with a much needed glass of wine, I decide to bite the Bionic bullet and open the tube again to actually use the product.

I fall asleep and then, I again apply it in the morning to put the lotion to the ultimate test: Malibu Secret versus South Florida Humidity. I must say, the Malibu Secret lotion won! I never once felt greasy; just softer and smoother.

Looking back- the night of lotion mayhem was two months ago and I’ve been using the product ever since! What changed? I eventually overlooked the fact that the product didn’t smell as beachy as the tube looks and realized how great the product simply was. (Perhaps I should also use this new insight to look back at my past relationships?)

I have seen a noticeable change in how my skin feels and looks, just as creators Katie and Erik Anderson promised. A facial quality, anti-aging lotion designed for the body. And one that is green! The packaging is recyclable and the lotion is non-animal tested.

The chemistry of ingredients will truly hook you. The 7.25oz tube of skin delight runs you $25, but worth every hard earned penny and can easily be bought online. In your pjs! More info: Order 3 or more tubes and it’s free shipping!

International Orange: Yoga-Inspired Body and Hair care

International Orange is a well known spa and yoga lounge based in San Francisco, California. In addition to their lovely spa services, IO has an award winning lineup of body and hair care. And yours truly got a chance to test out some samples.

International Orange body and hair care products

These products are all-natural. The ingredients are all easy to pronounce (grin) and are placed in each product to contribute. Meaning- there are not any fluff ingredients in here!

Here are my thoughts by product-

  • Enrich, A Body Lotion: Super! I can’t really say enough about this lotion. It’s creamy, performs wonderfully, softens my skin without creating an oily surface. Works well on my legs, arms, neck and hands. Hubby and I both loved the scent which features White lotus, Bergamot peel and Tuberose petal.
  • Cleanse, A Body Wash: Sulfate free and glycerin is the last product in the ingredient list. Even without the sulfates, this body wash produces good foam and melts dirt and the grime of day away. The scent really perks me up and lingers softly after exiting the shower. Scented with Lavender flower, Bergamot peel, and Calendula blossom.
  • Anoint, A Body Oil: Great product to help ease the stresses of the day and when you are not in the mood for a typical perfume fragrance. This is now my everyday “go-to” fragrance. It blends nicely and wears well through the day. Perks your nose up with White lotus, Jasmine flower, and Green tea (yum!).
  • Balance, A Deodorant: This product was a bit of a let-down compared to the rest of the line. I typically “run-hot” and start sweating with even mild activity, so the trials on this deodorant did not work for me. However, if you are a light activity person, or someone who doesn’t sweat much, this could work for you. I am using my up as a light body mist for bursts of fragrance through the day. The spray does not leave any sticky residue and is scented with Lavender flower, Echinacea root, and Comfrey leaf. I will say that this combo of fragrances is my favorite of the entire line (hence why I am still using it as a body mist, love love love this scent!).
  • Bathe, A Bath Soak: Lovely salts with epsom to help with detox and deep cleansing your skin. My husband even tried them out and reported a nice relaxation. It certainly helped me with my sore muscles after a long day of gardening.
  • Restore, A Hair Wash: I packed this and the following Hair Cream for a recent trip. This shampoo is sulfate free, yet sudses nicely. My hair and scalp felt clean and smelled grand! It was also super gentle to my color treated hair and did not strip my color. You’ll find notes of Bergamot peel, Geranium flower, and Seaweed extract.
  • Nourish, A Hair Cream: This is a performance conditioner. It provided plenty of moisture for my fine, colored hair. While there was enough moisture, I didn’t end up looking like I had an encounter with a butter truck at the end of the day. As Goldilocks said “Just right!”. The conditioner is scented with Jasmine blossom, Tuberose petal, and Golden Jojoba (excellent for nourishing your hair!).

Overall, this products are just splendid. I’m so glad I discovered them. They are a bit pricey, but if you choose the ones you want, you might be able to justify it. And once you try them, I think you’ll be hooked. Hubby and I are having a hard time figuring out how we could consider going without this shampoo and conditioner.
