Long time Bionic Beauties know that I’m a coconut lotion fan. My favorite being Hawaiin Tropic’s Lime Coolada. That stuff is creamy, moisturizing, cheap, smells delightful and has great anti-oxidants and vitamins.
I spotted Mountain Ocean Coconut Skin Trip lotion (sounds trippy, right?) at my local natural food market. Had a little sniff and headed to the checkout. While this coconut lotion is very mildly scented, you can certainly smell the tropical notes.

The lotion itself is pretty runny. Much more so than I am used to. This lotion would probably work well in a pump dispenser. It’s also not for people who are looking for quite a bit of moisture. Since it’s so thin, the product evaporates quickly, and leaves no residue, but it also doesn’t seem to pack much moisturizing properties.
The scent also changed once on my skin. It no longer smelled tropical- it smelled almost like spoiled milk. Maybe I got a bad batch? In any case, I won’t be repurchasing. I’ll be sticking to my tried and true Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada. However, the ingredients in the Skin Trip are a tiny bit more natural than the Lime Coolada (the Coolada surprisingly has some great ingredients packed in there!). I’d still like to see the Skin Trip lose some of the sulfates and ethanols if it’s going to claim “natural”.
Coconut Skin Trip is available at EverybodyLtd.com or check your local natural food markets (Whole Foods & Wild Oats). Hawaiian Tropic’s Lime Coolada is easily found at Walmart, Targets, local drugstores, and drugstore.com.
