I do not offer them so cannot speak for the companies. My best suggestion would be not to request free samples if you are uncomfortable with it. You should also read each company's Privacy Policy- you can usually find a link to it at the bottom of each page of their website. Additionally, the majority of free samples I find show the phone number as optional. Most required fields are marked with an asterisk. Was that perhaps the case?
