Dude, I LOVE Curel lotion! 😀 Free sample works for me. And the John Frieda deal at Ulta!??!? Totally awesome, like, tubular. (Thank you, Moon Unit Zappa. LOL) I’m definitely going to do those! I’ve still not tried the Root Awakening products, so the free deal will be super. Thanks for the info!!

Like oh my gawd. That’s totally radical, dudette. 😉 I LOVE the scent of the Root Awakening line. The shampoo and conditioner are my second favorite drugstore brand of hair care (my first being the L’Oreal EverPure), but the Root Awakening Health Boosting spray is awesome. Really. I love the scent, it adds shine, it conditions my hair (lightly), adds some volume, seems to keep my split ends to a minimum- I could go on and on. I reviewed it on here, but I adore it even more now. It’s definitely a keeper!

If John Frieda ever discontinues this line, I’ll protest. I still haven’t forgiven them for pulling my beloved Beach Blonde Surf Spray off store shelves. I’ve tried the big fancy brands of surf sprays and they are just sticky, or don’t smell nice, etc. I think I finally have my own version almost perfected though, so I will post it up as a recipe soon (it’s kind of like the one Joyce posted a few weeks ago, but with some minor changes).

Sorry about the “Dude”. 🙂 I say that to women *and* men on occasion. No offense. You don’t look like a “Dude”.

I know what you mean about products being discontinued! That really chaps my hide. I saw that they discontinued my dog’s shampoo scent, which I love on him. Not a huge deal, but annoying. At least the brand is still available. Maybe I should try that surf spray on him too, huh? He could look as if he just got back from Miami. 😀

Tashi, You should know me by now that calling me Dude won’t bother me a bit. 🙂 I don’t get offended easily… you’d certainly have to work harder than that. Tee hee!

oooh, I do have a coconut scented “body spray” for my Woo. He doesn’t like it much, but I think it smells yummy. He’s like a puppy-scented pina colada. LOL!

Ok, DUDE!! 😉 Hee-hee.

Btw, I just got my free John Frieda Root Awakening moisturizing shampoo today, woohooooo!! A woman in front of me was able to get 2 at one time, but I’m going to go back at least once more for another shampoo. If it weren’t for you, Jami, I wouldn’t have known about this fabulantastic deal. Muchas gracias!! 😀 in appreciation, I told the Ulta cashier and another customer about you and BB, as well as a woman who works at the place I went to today to use the computers. Thanks for making my day! Maybe getting free shampoo seems lame to some. But in my situation, it was a real treat! May you get a few new readers soon, due to the chatting up about you I did today. Woot-woot! Take care, Miss Bionic.

I’m glad you were able to take advantage of the free bottle of shampoo. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them!! Don’t you love the smell of them?

I totally understand about the “treat” especially about shampoo. I always LOVE getting a new shampoo and conditioner. I hold a little celebration when I finish a bottle and then happily pour through the shelves or my freebie packets from Walmart et al, to decide what I’m going to use next. I’m such a hair care nut. That’s how BB kinda got started. I was digging for all those hair care freebies to help feed my hair care product addiction since I can’t work. 🙂

Honestly, I haven’t smelled it yet. 🙂 But I’m betting I’d like the scent too. I hate foul-smelling stuff! Then again, I hate it when a company makes something TOO fragrant, even if it IS nice. Suave shampoo (the regular stuff, no special formulation) was SO strongly-scented, I couldn’t take it long, and threw out what I bought.

My only concern about the Root Awakening shampoo is, if it will quicken the fading of my color. I suppose if it does, it wouldn’t be too bad at all, since I only shampoo twice weekly, anyway. What are your experiences on that, Jami, since you color your hair too? I will try to remember to read your reviews on the shampoo. I already use JF’s color-safe formula, and love it even more than the salon stuff I used to get.

I used to be such a shampoo freak, I’d buy new or more kinds even when I didn’t NEED to. I’m still sort of like that, when I can afford it. But now, just much more reasonable. Free samples are awesome. I gave a handful of ones I got to my sister, who appreciated them! But she’s not getting my JF! 🙂

Update: Just tried the Root Awakening Moisturizing Shampoo for Dry hair this morning for the first time (I figured that one would be better for color-treated hair.). So far, I really like it! The smell is refreshing, but not overpowering. I only need a small quantity, too, about a quart-sized dollop. Sometimes I tend to use too much, regardless of the brand. So, it’s not necessarily the product that “fails” or lacks. It felt light, not too heavy at all. Not grimy or slick, like I’ve felt with some shampoos.

I just printed out one more coupon and am headed back to Ulta for another tube!! *THANKS* so much again, Jami. The tubes will last me a long time, since I don’t wash but twice weekly. That’s a total of about $15 of product that I will have gotten for FREE. I don’t know about other states, but here in Minnesota, we pay sales taxes on stuff like health and beauty items. With some free things, you’re required to pay the applicable sales tax. Not so with this coupon. Woot-woot!! 😎

OOPS. I meant, a quarter-size dollop. LOL I’d have to have a mongo-HUGE head of hair to use a QUART-size dollop.
