Being away from my husband for a year and finally traveling across the world to be with him made me feel beautiful inside. I had to be courageous in traveling to a country I have never been to so when I finally got here and be with my husband, I felt strong. Then I get to hear my husband say I’m beautiful everyday..in real.

2 Pamela Murphy December 27, 2008 at 8:35 pm

I feel beautiful everyday! But looked beautiful the first time I tried some mineral make up this year. Awesome stuff. Would love to win some.

3 Rita Sheppard December 27, 2008 at 9:22 pm

I usually wear Docker type slacks to work every day. One day I wore dress slacks, blouse, and a new jacket I’d bought and hung in my closet for months. I looked good and felt like a million bucks!

I finally quit smoking! I’ve smoked since I was 12 and I quit in February of 2008 when I turned 29. You do the math. I’m so incredibly proud of myself. I think it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. And I’ve had two kids!

7 Christina December 28, 2008 at 12:51 am

I felt beautiful when my husband ran his fingers across my MANY stretch marks and told me to not be ashamed of them, especially in front of him. He said that those were the marks of his babies and where they grew, that he loved them all.
I have a 3 year old and an almost 9 month old so I have some maps on my body!!

8 Tanya December 28, 2008 at 1:08 am

I felt beautiful through-out 2008 by staying single for the first time ever!! I always had a boyfriend and after being in many failed relationships I told myself I don’t need to be in one right now I need to discover what makes ME happy. Doing this made me feel better in realizing I didn’t need someone always telling me I’m beautiful because I discovered alone that I’m just as beautiful I finally convinced myself and learned to love myself. I feel its more important to see your own true beauty than be told you are beautiful! 2009 will bring more inner and outer beauty and I can’t wait to experience it!

Recently I had the opportunity to teach English to adults, I had one student, an older Japanese man, who almost never spoke and always told me he hated English and didn’t like coming to class. On my last day there he told me “Of all the teachers, I like you, you are okay”…I felt so good because I thought he hate my teaching style!! But he didn’t and my coworker informed me that he never used to come as often as he did when I was there.

I felt beautiful because I knew then that I succeeded as a teacher!

I felt really beautiful when I got hit on at a New Year’s Party by a guy 15 years younger than me. The lights were dim, but I choose not to focus on that.

27 LeaneG December 29, 2008 at 10:44 am

I had a baby last year, and while pregnant, I had gained almost 70 pounds!! So, recently, when a friend noticed how close I was to getting my orig. body back it was a real smile-inducer! It has been hard for me to feel beautiful because I have never been this heavy and I was very self concious (more than ever before) and awkward in this larger body, but having my son was definetly worth sacrificing (sp?) myself! Congrats on gathering such a following of beautiful women, I have been reading for about a year and I luv bionic.

28 Melinda December 29, 2008 at 11:43 am

My wedding day made me feel beautiful…my hair was done, my nails were done, and my make up was done. I felt like a princess :)

29 Joy December 29, 2008 at 11:44 am

I would have to say it was a date night my husband took me on. We both got dressed up, he had a tux, and I had a long evening gown, and we just went out for dinner in philly. It was romantic and I felt beautiful

30 Melanie B December 29, 2008 at 12:19 pm

31 laura December 29, 2008 at 1:12 pm

I had my first child on mother’s day of this year. And although I felt like crap, I got more compliments about how beautiful I looked than ever before. thanks!

32 fan December 29, 2008 at 2:30 pm

It took some time for me to think of the last time I felt beautiful. But recently I put my hair in a messy bun to get it of my back and my sister saw me and said she liked it and that I looked nice. Of course I rolled my eyes and said ya sure but it felt nice and made me feel beautiful.

33 Patti December 29, 2008 at 3:39 pm

More than any other year my husband has been telling me how beautiful I am. He used to occasionally tell me when we went out, but now he is telling me all the time. I was sick on the couch last weekend and he sat down and told me how beautiful I looked. What a guy.

34 Robyns Online World December 29, 2008 at 7:17 pm

Someone told me I looked like my grandmother when she was younger. That was great because I always have thought she was beautiful!

35 Michele P. December 29, 2008 at 10:21 pm

I felt beautiful this year when I finally got rid of some old deadwood boyfriend and met a better man who fell in love with me the minute he laid eyes on me

38 Leah December 30, 2008 at 1:18 pm

Ok well to be honest when I got pregnant with my son I went from a hot rocking body to this big lard. I had to of gained almost 50 lbs and had a huge craving for sweets. I was determined after I had him to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Sure enough about 6 months later I had reached my goal and I’m trying to stick very hard to it. (Ya know Holidays.. it’s like a huge excuse to cheat lol) But it made me feel so good to get into my jeans that I’ve been dying to wear!!!

39 Kristen Weatherford December 30, 2008 at 4:28 pm

I dropped a whole jean size this last part of the year and am now motivated to keep going!

40 Serendipitously Sarah December 30, 2008 at 5:35 pm

I felt beautiful on my birthday! My mother and I went shopping at Ulta to get new skincare and makeup and the most beautiful woman was helping us out and she told me that I had the most beautiful skin, and I didn’t even have any makeup on!

41 Carlie December 30, 2008 at 6:28 pm

When I decided it wasn’t what other people think, it’s what I thought.

42 Tracy M December 30, 2008 at 11:14 pm

My good friend came over one day with her whole train-case full of make-up, and gave me a makeover. I went from a frumpy housewife to a glamour queen in an hour, and now I know how to put on makeup to my benefit. The only problem is, now I have a taste for the sparkly pretties found at the cosmetics counter, and no longer want to touch the dried out eye pencils I used to use… Can’t put the Genie back in the bottle!!

43 Misty VanEpps December 31, 2008 at 1:41 am

i felt beautiful this year because of all the gifts i gave to people in need. food, and household items. anything i had, and i would check on my neighbors and friends to see if they needed anything before i went to the store. Never did i ask for anything in return.

My DH celebrated our 15 wedding anniversary this year by going on a cruise. We spent over TWO weeks together and had a blast. Even though I was (and am) undergoing chemo and steroids for CNS lupus, I felt just as beautiful on the cruise as the day I said I do :)

45 amber December 31, 2008 at 2:18 am

I always feel beautiful when the boy that I love tells me sweet things about myself. He can always turn my frown upside down :)

Thanks!

46 Michelle December 31, 2008 at 3:15 am

After losing 30 pounds I was still wearing my same uniform pants at work. Someone said I needed to get rid of the “clown” pants and suddenly all those fudge cookies I passed by seemed so worth it.

47 Monique December 31, 2008 at 9:09 am

I’ve recently started working full-time and needed to build an entire wardrobe, leaving my mommy-clothes behind for good!! My most recent addition was a beautiful red dress which I feell so comfortable in yet totally sopfisicated!!!

48 Maggie December 31, 2008 at 10:39 am

My 2008 beautiful moment is when I fit back into my regular non-maternity jeans less than a month after my baby was born. Wow, was that a great feeling! LOL Now, to just make THOSE pants a smaller size. :D

49 claudia December 31, 2008 at 10:46 am

50 Sandy M December 31, 2008 at 10:56 am

51 Terry December 31, 2008 at 12:58 pm

I feel beautiful when I am myself… casual, comfortable, and relaxed.

52 joanna smith December 31, 2008 at 4:41 pm

I felt beautiful back in June of 2008 when I FINALLY decided to have my hair professionally cut, styled, and highlighted! This was a HUGE step for me since I had this “fear” of ever really cutting my hair or changing the style. But, my friends, family, husband all were dropping hints that maybe it was time to change things up a bit, get rid of the schoolgirl hair and get a more professional polished hair style. So, reluctantly at first, I decided to “take the plunge” so to speak and have the hair cut. I made an appt. at this glitzy hair salon in town and I had my hair cut about 12 inches (and I donated my hair to a local charity to use for making wigs) and now my hair is just below my shoulders and layered. I also had highlights put into it and I feel reinvented! At first I was shocked when I saw myself, but shocked in a good way! I actually think it made me look younger instead of older like I thought it would! But I now feel much sexier, prettier and confident about myself. I love it when I run into someone who has not seen me in a while and at first they do not recognize me. That shock factor alone really makes me feel good and positive about myself. I also faced a fear and that was such an empowering moment and feeling for me. It gave me motivation and strength to want to set greater and more substantial goals for myself! May each and every one of you find some empowerment in the NEW YEAR too! Thank you for letting me share my story and for the opportunity to enter!

53 naomi December 31, 2008 at 4:56 pm

I felt beautiful when my boyfriend looked at my face without makeup and said– you look beautiful !

54 sito December 31, 2008 at 8:20 pm

I waitress part time and waited on a man and his daughter — I’d guess she was maybe 7. When they left, there was a tip wrapped in a piece of note paper. The little girl had written a note “to the pretty waitress with the feather barette.” Dad left me a generous tip, but that note was far more precious.

55 Tracy December 31, 2008 at 9:30 pm

I felt beautiful when people recognized and complimented my effort at work.

56 Becca December 31, 2008 at 10:27 pm

I felt beautiful in 2008 the morning after I took the 2-day Florida Bar Exam. After weeks on dressed in pajamas and sweats while studying 14 and 16 hours per day I was finally done with it all, and the city we took the exam in was only 45 minutes from my parents home. The morning after I was done I took a long long shower and later took time to curl my hair into loose waves, then got dressed in real clothes and went home to Mommy and Daddy – I felt beautiful and proud.

57 Amanda December 31, 2008 at 10:36 pm

64 Annmarie Weeks January 2, 2009 at 3:24 pm

We moved to FL in the spring of 2008. And ever since, I have felt beautiful whenever I take my dog for a walk along the beach in the mornings. I know that I’m not only spending time with someone who loves me unconditionally, but am making myself even more beautiful with the exercise and fresh air!
