J Lynne Mineral lipglosses

Mineral lip colors are all the rage lately. I had the chance to try J Lynne Cosmetics’ mineral Gloss FX. My colors to test were Rachel (a shimmery mauve) and Julianne (a medium wearable pink with shimmer).
Jlynne Cosmetics lipglosses - Gloss FX

These mineral lipglosses are very thick in the tube. However the formula does seem to melt once on your lips. The shine hangs in there for hours. I would consider them a cross between lip gloss and lipstick. The glosses are say they vegan friendly (see my notes below) and not tested on animals.

The glosses do contain Lanolin and glycerin, so be careful for breakouts around your mouth. On that note, I’m not sure about the Vegan friendly statement since lanolin is derived from sheep’s wool and they also contain Beeswax (which most vegans also avoid). Just some food for thought.

Find them at JLynneCosmetics.com – 14 shades to choose from! A full size tube is $12, or get the sample sizes for $2. I’d recommend the sample sets where you get a whole slew of colors to play with.

Full ingredients listing below…

Gloss FX Ingredients: Lanolin, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Beeswax, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil. May Contain Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742).

I’d have to agree with your statement about ‘Vegan’ products. Vegan products do not have animal by-products in them such as lanolin and/or beeswax. Aside from that, the colors look really pretty!

Hi Jami, thank you so much for your lovely review our our Gloss FX Lip Glazes!

While our loose-powder cosmetics are 100% free of animal by-products, our lip products do contain beeswax and/or lanolin, depending on the product. I apologize for any confusion! As we state on our website: “We are proud to be a natural cosmetics company creating cruelty-free makeup products. Our mineral powder makeup products are vegan-friendly, and all natural cosmetics manufactured by J.Lynne Cosmetics are tested only on humans, never on animals.”

I hope this helps! :-)

Yep, not exactly vegan. The consistency of this gloss reminds me of BE’s lip glosses, they are very thick, but when they warm up on your lips they apply smoothly (maybe that is the beeswax)!

Fun review BB!

J.Lynne’s lip glazes are on my wishlist! My favorite J.Lynne product is the foundation, which provides full coverage and is very matte. By the way, first-time J.Lynne customers can use code “RJW58476” (my referral code) for 10% off their orders.
