LipGloss, My only problem with the BE was all the bismuth and other "minerals". As soon as my pores opened (from skincare, or sweating) it stung and then my super-sensitive skin would break out within a few days. I liked the finish it gave though.

Jen, The liquid is especially nice in the drier winters. :) I still like Thevi's liquid mineral foundation the best, but this is a good drugstore replacement.

Robyn, You bring up some excellent points about drugstore mineral makeup and this brand in particular. I hope everyone reads your comment! And there's that darn glycerin again, which explains the tiny breakouts I had after using this. It did cover nicely though.

Great tips for the heavier coverage!! I'm going to try that!!

Cheap Chick, Let me know your results. I've found that most concealers just laugh at my eye circles and melasma. Or they crinkle and clump making them more noticeable if anything so I usually favor finding a foundation type product that covers better. I also like the cheapy $1 elf concealer. it's worked wonders for covering my problems spots!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful and super helpful comments!

If you suffer from oily skin, I'd definately stay away from this. The reason it makes a cool primer is because some of it's main ingredients are dimethicone, gylcerin, silicone - all of which will keep powders staying on your face. It will prevent ANYTHING from going into you skin - little things, like air. The only true minerals it has are the last two listed: MAY CONTAIN Titanium Dioxide and iron oxides.

A trick for getting heavier coverage using your powders: lightly mist your brush with an atomizer spray (Evian makes a facial mist, as does a bunch of other companies) before you "swirl" your brush. This will help meld the powder to your face, then apply additional layers as needed dry. Even better - once you've applied both a wet layer and a dry one, warm your brush using your blow dryer (hold onto the bristles so that the brush still retains it's shape), then buff once more to meld it all together.

Very good to know, I had heard good things about Maybelline's mineral makeup, but prefer foundations in a liquid form. This sounds like the best of both worlds. Thanks BB!
