Hi Kimberly, I've got some Chanel polish too and have never had the outer cap come off like it did on the Dior polish. The outer cap on the Dior was actually glued on with a high-end lock-tite type of adhesive. So when the outer square cap broke off, it physically cracked; and it also cracked the inside black cap. :( So now they are both cracked. I solved the problem by switching on another brand's brush and cap. Much, much better.

The Sally's nail polish thinner is nice! Especially if you have problems with a thick polish. I use it sometimes for China Glaze glitter polishes. However, I would only recommend the Seche Vite top coat when you have glitter polishes or ridges. Otherwise, check out "Out the Door" - it dries much quicker that SV and lasts a LOT longer. :)

I hope this helps!
Best,
Jami

Hi, I just wanted to mention the cap actually didnt break off. Just like Chanel polish, there are two caps. An outside cap and an inside screw cap. This is to make it easier to polish with (instead of holding onto a chunky square cap). I just wanted to make sure you didn't think it was "broken"
PS. I always add a drop of sally's beauty secrets nail polish thinner to Dior or Chanel polish. It makes a world of a difference, lasts longer, goes on smoother , and doesn't chip. Top it off with Seche Vite fast dry top coat also from sallys, dries cement hard (and super glossy) in 5 min! My polish lasts for at least a week like new!

Good info on OPI and CG Jami! There are a couple of brands that I've had problems with due to coverage inconsistency so it's helpful that you keep an eye on that stuff!

Hi Holly, They are actually separate companies. I agree that some of their colors are similar, but I actually haven't found any duplicates between the two brands. OPI is a bit more "traditional" in their colors and has the DS (Designer Series with Diamond dust), lots of creams and mushrooms; while China Glaze has lots of sparkles, shimmers, holographics, bright colors, etc. CG also seems to release quite a few more specialized collections each year.

However, they are both "Big 3 Free" formulas, but CG is typically longer lasting and a bit thicker. OPI seems to run a bit smoother and fluid- and their formula seems a bit more consistent throughout their color range.

I hope this information helps! Let me know if I can help you out with anything! :-)

Have you tried Rescue Beauty Lounge? I know they are pricey (around $18 a bottle), but the formula ROCKS. I typically chip my nails within 24 hours, and RBL lasts 3-4 days for me. Incredible! And I only need 1-2 coats instead of the typical 3-4 so I'm using a lot less polish. I'll have a full review and lots of swatches up soon!

Happy Friday!

Thanks for the review! I guess I will stick with OPI and China Glaze. Are they made by the same company? They have all the same colors, just different names.
