bionic beauty, i want you to know: del sol is a line of color changing products and they have LOTS of colors:) i would really recommend them! i have quite a few myself!

Congrats on those new polishes! Yeah, some of the Sally’s carry them, and some don’t. I’ve even noticed some carry more of the China Glaze polishes than others too.

I really think a base coat helps me. But I have trouble keeping my nails chip free for more than a day without a base & top coat. My favorite is CND Sticky (it’s in a translucent green bottle at Sally’s). Sticky is AWESOME. It literally stays tacky until you add a coat of polish on top so it makes it adhere super well. It virtually eliminates peeling.

For a top coat “Out the Door” (avail at Sally, CVS, Target and some Walgreens) or for glittery polishes or for my toes I use Seche Vite since that is a super thick top coat which keeps the glitter from feeling gritty on your nails and makes toes/pedicures last for weeks.

I’ve found that if I paint my nails a few times a week they tend to grow better because the polish helps reinforce them from breaking so easily.

Thanks, Jami! I went to my nearby Sally store today, specifically looking for the Orly polishes. The cashier and I looked and looked, but there was no OMG. Not even an empty slot. I forgot to look for Cashmere Cardigan. I mentioned the Prepster Collection, but she knew nothing about it, and I didn’t look closely. I think that this Sally store must be a smaller one. But it’s all good. I got two bottles of China Glaze polish there: Fifth Avenue (a mave-ish tone, very work-safe) and Rich & Famous (a light bubble gummy pink — to match my glasses on occasion, lol). While my nails are really short and crazy (but decent enough), thanks to fidgeting and just everyday actions, I want to try polish every now and then. I’ve already applied two coats of each on two different nails. So far, so good. Smooth, not too bright, and they dry quickly. The R & F shade may need 3 coats, due to slight sheerness. But it could be my application technique. I forgot to get a base coat and a top coat. Are they really necessary? I’d guess they would be, as the polish may last longer. Doing both just seems so tedious.

Patrice, It is soooo pretty isn’t it? I’m still not tired of wearing it. And I’m trying some of the new matte topcoats over it. REALLY pretty. I have pictures coming soon.

Tashi, For what it’s worth, my nails are always short. They never grow past what you see above. I try and try. But… I think that darker colors and attention grabbing colors look great on shorter nails!

And I think you could definitely rock Cashmere Cardigan.

I second what Stacy wrote about checking for Orly at Sally Beauty. Mine even has the Prepster collection on sale right now!! But some Sally’s are smaller than others (like ours here is tiny- so I sometimes drive to the mainland, lol, to go to the bigger Sally’s when I what more selection), so they don’t all carry the same stuff. Plan a route or call around to your local Sallys.

Stacy, thank you! While there is one CVS in my area, they tend to be more expensive than, say, Target, etc., and I’m not a big fan of online ordering, hence, the earlier question. I’m a recent Sally Beauty Supplies convert/addict, so thanks for the tip on looking there for the Orly polishes. I’ll take a look next time I’m in there. The location nearest me lets anyone shop there, not just cosmetologists, which is great.

Tashi, I know where I live they are available at places like Sally’s Beauty Supplies and other salon supply stores. Some let you in without having to be a cosmotologist.

I loveOMG as well!!! I have very fair skin and berries and reds seem to go best. May have to run by Sally’s during my next shopping day and check this one out!

I love the OMG shade, but haven’t tried any Orly polishes yet. OMG looks so pretty. I do tend to gravitate towards pinks. My nails are very short, but not icky-short, which causes me to think I can’t wear polish these days. Maybe one of these shades would be groovy for me, even now. Is the Cashmere Cardigan color too much for someone in her forties? In the past, I’ve been a fanatic for OPI. Besides CVS and Orly’s web site, has anyone seen Orly polishes available at other stores as well? Thanks!
