I always try to set aside a special eye makeup look for New Year’s Eve. Even if I’m just staying home with family and friends to toast midnight, I want something a little sparkly and unique. This year I turned to Purely Cosmetics’ Black Cherry indelible gel eyeliner.

This eyeliner is perfect! There a black base highlight with maroon and very subtle gold flecks. I think it would work on most any eyecolor due to the black base.

Plus, if you get a tad misty eyed during the festivities, the indelible gel means it won’t smear or wander. Nope. No black smudgy eyes here!!

I’ve lusted after this eyeliner for about a year now and finally grabbed it for $12 at PurelyCosmetics.com. Quite the bargain, in my opinion. This teeny pot will last me years!
Do you plan to create a special makeup look for New Years? Are you staying warm at home or ringing in 2009 with a party?

Thanks for the great review! Wouldn’t ya know that I’m currently out of stock on the Black Cherry, lol? It’ll be back in stock next week, along with a new shade to go with the Black Out, Chocolate Mousse, and Black Cherry.
Soooo gorgeous on you! This is a beautiful eyeliner with just the perfect amount of sparkle, and for a nice price at PurelyCosmetics.
What is your favorite type of eyeliner application brush? Happy New Year BB!
Love the look! Really nice color, too
This is THE eyeliner for your eyes! I absolutely love it!!! Thanks BB, now I have a new liner crush myself.
I too heard that the eyeliners are good for eyes. As they have the tendency to keep the eyes cool. Is that true?
Robyn, I can’t wait to order the rest of the colors! I am seriously considering pitching the standard pencil liners & switching over to your gels. Weeee!
Jen, Silly me on the brushes… I really need a nice higher end one. Right now my favorite eyeliner brush is the ones packaged with Jane’s mineral gel eyeliners. They are small, thin, Taklon bristles and hold their shape SO well. I’ve got liner brushes from Smashbox, Sonia Kashuk, L’Oreal, and a few others… none even compare to the Jane one. Any suggestions?
Deanna, Joycey, Thanks!
Acai, I don’t think they cool your eyes at all. Although some pencil liners from Maybelline have added menthol to provide a cooling effect. But the gel liners are gentle to your lids since they don’t pull on the sensitives skin. Also they wash off cleanly and wear well through the day (no smudging or loss of color through the day).
I hope this helps! And… Welcome to Bionic Beauty! I truly hope to see you around here in the future.
Best,
Jami (aka BB)
You can get the very same liners for much much cheaper from Morganaminerals.com or coastalscents.com. Get more for you money in this economy!
