Nightly Skincare Regimen

Bionic's Beauty TipsI’ve received a few reader Q’s regarding what my typical nightly skin routine is, I’m posting up to share. I believe it’s a natural female instinct to wonder what everyone else is using, what their secret may be, and comparing it to your own. Like our own little Consumer Reports survey. 🙂

When I am not testing new products on my skin, here are my standard go-to’s:

  1. Facewash: Noxema for normal skin, and twice a week I load some up onto a washcloth for extra scrubbing. I find I need to moisturize less with this face wash, it keeps my skin tone even, and doesn’t peel, redden or scuff up my skin.
  2. Toner: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel.
  3. If needed, spot treat any blemishes with Tea Tree Oil.
  4. Treatment: Boots UK Restore and Renew serum. I can’t say enough great things about this star of a product!
  5. Moisturizer: Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily SPF 15 Moisturizer (when needed and every night in the winter).

That’s it. I really try to keep it simple since I abhor product overload, and with my sensitive skin I have to watch for certain ingredients that might cause redness or breakouts.

So chicas, what is your secret nightly regimen?

First, can i say that I have a ton of great freebies of skin and haircare in my linen closet because of your psots? Thank you, can’t wait to play with them all!

As for me, I was my face with Neutrogena, the blue stuff that is a makeup remover and wash in one (think it’s the oil free wash?). It really gets everything off, including waterproof liquid liner and mascara.

Toner is Body Shop’s Moisture White toner because… well because I got it for free 🙂

Then I use the Neutrogena Eye Brightening eye cream, The Clean and Clear acne treatment (the one that states it is 99% effective) on spots, and then the grocery store’s version of the Olay Regenerist night cream.

In winter I don’t exfoliate often, just once a week with a Body Shop Vitamin C polisher product that is exfoliant and wash in one. In summer, I scrub more 🙂

I tried the fancy stuff and found that products like Neutrogena were gentler to my skin and I saw better results!

I use:

1. Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple Cleanser
2. Clinique’s Mild Toner
3. DDF Benzoyl Peroxide w/ Tea Tree Oil
4. Clinique’s Moisture On-Line Moisturizer
5. Clinique Repairwear on my neck (can’t forget your neck!)

This is a pretty new routine that I’ve been using for the last month or so and it’s really helped to clear my skin.
