Always give new products 6 weeks unless you have an allergic reaction to them (extreme redness, itching, swelling, etc). That's why I test skin care products so slowly on here. It takes forever to see if it really works for you. Be patient. I think you'll really like the Bentonite Clay. ;) And always feel free to email or ask questions as you go along!

Thanks for the info BB. I prob would have thought the mask wasn't working if it appeared I would have had more acne. (Hopefully I won't get that much, I HATE when I get new pimples.)

I remember using that when I was in high school! I did seem to take a bit to kick in, but it did help. If you can't find it locally, you may check with an herbalist too in your area. I know they can compound up mixes (and most have them prepackaged) for acne. Not sure if it would be cheaper or not. $10 isn't bad for 30 days, that's for sure.

Just remember whenever you start a new face mask regimen or any skin care regimen- that it can take up to 6 weeks for your skin to adjust. The first few weeks after starting a mask- your skin will detox and "blow out" all the gunk. So you may get some extra breakouts. But know that it's normal. Your skin will be better for it in the long run.

Thanks for the tip B Beauty. Another acne treatment I've found that helped me was called Nature's Cure - 2 Part Acne Treatment for Females (they have one for men too). It's comes with homeopathic pills that are natural and good for acne. It also comes with a BP cream, which I hardly ever used. The pills last for 30 days, you take one in the morning and evening.

When I tried it for that first month, I didn't notice too much but the second month, my face was totally clear!!! There are no side effects and the ingredients are natural. It's supposed to balance out your hormones which can cuse acne. I've read up on it on different sites about acne and read reviews and most of them were good reviews. I was skeptical at first but when I saw it was only $9.99 and since it was natural, i thought why not.

I purchased it online from Walgreen's but have not been able to find it in the store. All I know is when I stopped taking it for awhile and my acne was back with a vengeance. So I just ordered some more and will be using that in conjunction with the Aztec clay to get acne free skin.

Thanks for your help! I've been looking for a replacement product so I don't risk ruining towels so this is great to know:).

Hi Liz, You are correct- both BP and Salicylic Acid will bleach clothing, towels, even your hair and skin. Sulfur-based products don't do that (unless they have BP or SA added). I'm allergic to both SA and BP- not truly allergic but more of a hyper-sensitivity. I develop red swollen area, itchiness, flakes, and more pimples. So I looked for the sulfur treatments. They are the only things that work for me. I was just getting worse and worse on the regular acne meds. Plus sulfur is much gentler. I never get dry skin because of it.

I hope that helps. Don't hesitate to post with more questions!! :)

Annie, Let me know if you do. I love it- it's now a must-have in the Bionic Beauty skin care arsenal. ;)

I'm also testing another sulfur-based product that is showing great results. They seem to work SO much better than the SA or BP versions. And they contain less irritants which is perfect for broken out skin.
