I totally agree about the acts of kindness. Here's one recently- my friend lost her iphone in the shopping center parking lot. She thought it was gone forever. A few hours later, a woman called and had her phone. She couldve sold it for several hundred dollars and yet was nice enough to return it. So incredible. Just doing small things, like helping a neighbor move, or helping them with their garden, is very rewarding! Just the other day, on my favorite local FM radio station, they were talking about acts of kindness. Someone called in to tell how they took a roll of quarters to a grocery store, then filled all of the gumball/toy machines, just to give to the kids who'd pass through. What a great idea! While it's not raising money for cancer, it's sweet. I know that, as a kid, *I* used to loooove the gumball machines at the grocery store, and wherever. Imagine the excitement when a kid would turn the knobs, only to discover someone had already inserted coins! Magic!? LOL Shannon's story was very nice! It's very inspirational. We all need to think like that more often, and try to make a difference, as best we can.
