This Friday one of my very special online gal pals, Sinead Norenius, is dishing on how she Achieves Powerful Beauty.
Sinead a self-professed “melanin challenged” individual, has been an avid self-tanner since the ripe age of 13. She remembers wanting to be tan and brown like the rest of her friends, but her ghostly white and freckled skin would not allow it! One day, out of desperation, Sinead ventured into her mom’s medicine cabinet and generously slathered herself with Coppertone’s QT product promptly turning a bright shade of orange!
It was from that experience that Sinead began her quest to find the perfect self-tanner. Her passion for helping other avoid the pitfalls, joys, trials and fun of self tanners shows through at her blog SelfTanningQueen.com.
After much research and listening to all our complaints about traditional sunless tanners, Sinead decided to put her knowledge into action: Antidote Skin Care was born “to the rescue of pale and pasty people everywhere”!
With that said… here we go!
How do I define or achieve Powerful Beauty?
Each morning, I start my day by making a conscious choice to be happy, to smile and laugh, remember that anything is possible, and to have my most fabulous day ever! I do this, because I realize that in order to achieve Powerful Beauty, I need to be in the right frame of mind- a positive one! For me, my morning walk where I take in the fresh ocean air, puts a glow in my face and a bounce in my step, as I prepare to take on the many roles my day ahead has in store. I believe that no amount of makeup, plastic surgery, or fancy clothes can generate the inner radiance you get by taking a little time for yourself.
As women, we play a number of different roles- mother, wife, sister, cousin, breadwinner, parent, friend… possibly many of these mentioned, if not all, in the short span of a day! What we all have in common is the Powerful Beauty that radiates from each one of us as we assume these many roles. While taking care of our families and children, running companies, tending to the needs of others before ourselves, it’s easy to overlook the beauty we’re exuding and the influence we’re having through these actions. To me, this is beautiful. And the simplest of our actions- calling a friend in need, hugging your mom or dad, mentoring someone at work, offering a glorious smile to a stranger- we embody, and become, Powerful Beauty in it’s truest form.
Well said, Sinead! And she’s right… every day we achieve so much that we rarely realize. It’s the little things that add- and when you step back and look at those accomplishments, it’s truly amazing.
Catch up on the rest of the Powerful Beauty features. And remember to check back each Friday for another dose of how to Achieve Powerful Beauty!
