This question came in from Bionic Beauty reader Chris…
I have some Boots Botanics complexion renewing foundation. I like it a lot, but it has become quite thick. Is there anything I can do to dilute it?
Hi Chris,
First, thanks so much for writing to me with your beauty question. I truly love to hear from my readers!
I would suggest putting some of the makeup/foundation in your hand and then adding a drop or two of Jojoba Oil or your favorite face moisturizer. Swirl it up with your finger and then apply as normal.
You can also use this method with a bit more lotion to create your very own custom Tinted Moisturizer!

Good Friday Everyone!!
I have long thought to ask this question……On weekends I TRY not to use too much make-up or none at all. So instead of make-up I wear moisturizer. I will try the foundation/moisturizer blend. It sounds like a good way to use the last drops of foundation, just pour in some mosturizer…….. Happy Trick or Treating!!!!!
Happy Friday!
I would advise you to spray a little water to your foundation brush…this will make the foundation a little lighter and easy to apply. Give it a try!
Hi Mary, Thanks so much for this tip! Just be careful though with your minerals that you only use the damp brush on something like a countertop (or I use a ceramic saucer). If you swirl your damp brush in your mineral makeup lid, you could introduce bacteria. Also, the Boots foundation is a liquid so you’d have to spritz quite a bit of water onto the brush to make it less viscous… Maybe mixing a few drops of water into the cream foundation in the palm of your hand could work better?
I really appreciate your tip! And happy Friday to you as well!
All the best,
Jami
