Product Review: Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco

It’s no secret that one of my great weaknesses is hair care products. I celebrate the last drop in a shampoo bottle joyously since it means I get to pick up something new at the store (or online). It’s one of life’s little pleasures for me.

My latest foray is Bumble and Bumble’s Creme de Coco Shampoo and Conditioner. Granted, these aren’t new products, but are considered “favorites” by many hair care savvy gals. So I put them to the Bionic test.

Bumble and Bumble's Creme de Coco Shampoo and Conditioner

I used the duo for a full week to give my hair a chance to adjust and to see the “real” effects. Creme de Coco worked very well for my hair type (semi fine, a bit dry, slightly wavy & hard to control, loads of flyaways). The shampoo is creamy, lathers well and smells lightly of the beach. LOVE IT!

The conditioner is light. I’d like a bit more moisture, but when I paired this duo with my normal weekly deep-treatment (White Sand’s ER Fusion), all was fine. The Creme de Coco conditioner tamed my flyaways and kept my hair bouncy.

Pros: Lovely scent, cute packaging, well known brand, fantastic extracts to help strengthen and maintain your hair (including nettle, horsetail, mallow, coconut, kelp & more), and there are no ‘cones (dimethicones, silicones, etc) to dry out your hair down the road.

Cons: Pretty expensive and the shampoo contains sulfates. Conditioner may be too light without a weekly deep-conditioning treatment.

Pick up the duo at for $46.95 (which is cheaper than you’ll find it at Target and CVS, hint hint.).

I love that I’m not alone in my hair care product obsession! Have you tried the Organix line? The Coconut Milk smells like heaven – so good, you’d want to eat it. But don’t, cuz it doesn’t taste very good.

I think I remember getting a sample of this at some point – Maybe from Shecky’s Girls Night Out and if memory serves I really liked it for the most part, but I think I could’ve used a bit more moisture from the conditioner since I have very thick somewhat frizzy/dry hair and unless I get super-moisturized from my conditioner, then I end up with a frizzy mess. This wasn’t quite so bad, but maybe Ill follow your lead and pair with another treatment. Thanks for the review!
