Product Review: Jeune D’age Organics’ Marin Toner

by Bionic Beauty on 12.Nov.2009 · 9 comments

Like the Jeune D’Age Organics’ serum I reviewed last week, their Marin Toner also “makes my face giggle”. I tell you, I’m one happy skin care gal with this line around!

Toner is such an important part of a proper skin care regimen, yet it is so often overlooked. Jeune’s Marin Toner’s purpose is the balance the skin’s pH level, tighten pores, act as an anti-inflammatory, provide some hydration, stimulate new cell growth. It is even loaded with ingredients that help activate the product you follow it with (usually your moisturizer). Many ingredients are derived from sea water and natural algaes that are chemically similar to skin- making this toner very gentle and non-irritating.

Bionic Bronnie reviews Jeune D'age Organics' Marin Toner!

The beauty (sorry, no pun intended!) of Marin Toner, and all Jeune D’age products, is Jeune’s focus on pure, natural ingredients and without additives like parabens or synthetics. I don’t have to worry about irritation due to chemicals or potential long term effects!

Jeune D’age Marin Toner comes in a generously sized jar with application pads. There is so much extra toner in the bottle, that I used the two of the included pads (which are great for exfoliation!) plus a cotton pad sandwiched in between. This “toner sandwich” was perfect for my neck, chest and back. You could also use a Qtip or cotton ball for application on small, delicate skin areas.

Marin Toner is rich in various sea minerals and Dead Sea salt. This concentrated formula has over twenty skin-healthy minerals-

  • Kelp – Draws out impurities and helps bring amino acids back into the skin.
  • Blue Green Algae – Builds soft tissue, packed with vitamins.
  • Hyaluronan – Dermal hydrator that plumps and smoothes skin.
  • Willowbark Extract – A topical astringent that’s a natural source of Salicylic Acid. Helps slough away old skin, stimulate new cell growth, and clear acne.
  • Tea Tree Oil – An antibacterial, anti-fungal, natural cleanser, that’s also great for acne!
  • Aloe Vera – Acts as a moisturizer and a carrier for the other ingredients into the skin.

I LOVE this stuff!! If feels amazingly good and leaves a natural glow. I went through my full size bottle for this review, bought another bottle just so I could use it on my chest and back. Now I’m so taken by this toner, that I’ve placed a third order! From my results with this brand, I have a feeling that Jeune D’age is going to explode into the skincare world and create quite a stir!

Jeune D’age Organics “Marin Toner” costs $24.95 for 6.76 oz. jar or check out the full line Gift Set for $97.50 (a savings of $17.30!).

Stay tuned for my next two reviews of Jeune D’age skin care!

I NEVER use toner.. your skin’s PH will return to normal on it’s own.

Hi Lisa, Thank you for commenting and welcome to Bionic Beauty! I hope to continue to see you around the website.

On your comment about toner, many people do not use toners, as Bronnie pointed out in the article above. However, they do quite a bit more than adjusting your skin’s pH level. In particular, Jeune D’age’s toner clarifies skin, removes oxidation/pollution from your environment, removes leftover particles of makeup and dirt, closes pores, and provides moisture. It can also help clarify your pores (shrinking and decongesting them) when used longer term (think- over 6 weeks).
I hope this helps clarify some things on why toners can certainly be a VERY important part of your skin care. I do not advise using harsh toners (like Seabreeze from the drugstore)- those can be exceptionally drying, remove too many oils from your skin, and definitely work adversely on your pH (throwing it way out of whack).

Please be sure to post back with your thoughts and opinions. Bionic Beauty is all about discussion, being open, and sharing experiences. One thing may not work for one person, but it may be another gal’s “must-have” item. 🙂

Again, welcome to Bionic Beauty! I’m happy to have you as a reader!

Kathy, Thanks SO much for sharing your experience with Jeune D’age toner. I just bought myself a bottle and can’t wait to try it out! I’m bringing it on my trip next week and plan to share with the Bionic Mom and Bionic sister. 🙂 Skin care party! ha ha!

I have noticed a change in my uneven skintone or coloring since learning more about the importance of the ph. My well water ph test’s higher than 8.9 on my fishtank chemical test.

I never used toner’s much, until I learned about this. Now when I rinse my face and dry it, it feel’s really dry. After I “erase” the hard water from my face with the toner, it feel’s truly “good”….
I think every person has a different set of circumstance’s..and therefore different need’s and opinion’s.

Thank’s for the feedback, I really enjoy it.

Just bought 3 more jar’s myself!

Thank you for the comments. To Lisa’s though, many don’t use Toner’s and while it is true the skin returns to a normal pH of about 5.5 in most zones, a return to the normal pH level may take up to 30 minutes or more. You may have exceptional skin but most can have minor skin problems. A pH level more than normal can aggravate skin conditions as it is the slightly acidic level that helps protect us from fungus, bacteria and virus. A basic review of the skin can be found at

Thank you,

I am also interested in the Marin Toner. I love the idea that it is rich in sea minerals, and has dead sea salt. I love the idea that is has so many minerals added to it. I have bought several toner’s in the past, and because they were so harsh on my skin, I gave up. Everytime I would see another new one on the market I would buy and end up giving it away. Because my skin is so deeply sensitive, I have a standing appointment at my Dermotologist monthly. (Which is a drag) I only wish I could find a line of products that my skin would enjoy. I have bought many several expensive lines in the past, and again gave them away. Their gain, my loss. 🙁
